My biggest gripe about the indieweb movement is they assume I want my own website.

What is IndieForums?
#
Loqi
IndieForums is an IndieWeb friendly forum that allows users to post content or replies on their own site and cross post to the forum automatically using Webmention notifications both to the forum itself and to the original posts on other authors' websites https://indieweb.org/IndieForums

I love that idea!

accessibility << simple, semantic HTML can get you a long way toward building an accessible experience. Not using the right semantic tags can cause problems : https://mobile.twitter.com/mmatuzo/status/1481370546176770049

@mmatuzo
How many HTML elements do you need to create a checkbox? Exactly, 14! 14 is the right answer. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FI7ioe7XsAkHCOu.jpg

[KevinMarks] that RSS page could you use some clean-up, not sure it's a great reference for "History of RSS"
#
[KevinMarks]1
The wars page was my first instinct, but I was trying to be polite
#
[tantek]
Nah, better to rip the bandaid off for such folks and be like here, stop romanticizing RSS
#
jacky
needs to be better about that

that = leaning more into Atom (due to extensibility)

↩️ There is another RSS reader approach: friendica (@FriendicaNews) can import RSS feeds to your stream. Plus - you can use tools like http://granary.io (an indieweb tool + stream format translator) to convert arbitrary feeds into RSS.

↩️ If you setup a microsub server (eg. Yarns with Wordpress or Aperture http://aperture.p3k.io), you can import multiple RSS feeds into "channels" and then use a micropub reader (eg. http://alltogethernow.io) to read them. More at: https://indieweb.org/Microsub#clients
