If you want a little taste of the old internet, when you link-hopped between independent websites and didn't know where you'll end up, this page is a good place to do that: https://indieweb.org/discovery

Indeed that's something perhaps confusing about seeing Wikipedia edits here. Similar templates (e.g. cite vs citation) are used for different purposes on the two wikis

↩️ I don't know cohost; what is it? I've been enjoying Mastodon a lot. It's part of the Fediverse. It fits a similar 'hole' to Twitter but has features that prevent what makes Twitter so bad. I've also heard good stuff about "IndieWeb" but haven't looked into it yet.

I can confirm that the #Indieweb suite of plugins work on ClassicPress CMS. I thought they would, but it is good to know in the wild. Good to have another compatible, viable CMS platform for the Indieweb. https://www.classicpress.net

Looks like all the indieweb examples on /disclosure are either privacy policies or backfeed disclosures.
#
[aciccarello]
Oh, there's a /privacy-policy page and a redirect from "privacy policy" to /disclosure
#
[tantek]
Yes, we have enough different enough indieweb examples that they’re worth splitting into separate pages

I wanted to cover my preferences if I'm in a reply context... where do I do that?
#
[tantek]
syndication policy
#
[tantek]
it's something that was discussed a bit in the pop-up IIRC, and also different enough to capture
#
[tantek]
there's also I think the counter part, which for lacking a better name, I suggest "aggregation policy", which is where you can document how you bring in content from other sites to display e.g. in reply-context on your /reply posts or link-previews, or /response posts in general
#
[tantek]
part of such an "aggregation policy" would be describing your overall attitude towards it and noting that if someone sees something of theirs that they don't want on your site, a way for them to request removal
#
[tantek]
e.g. if someone sees their icon, or their fully quoted tweet on your site, describe your intention to respect/honor their wishes, and how they can ask for removal from such a reply-context etc., or how they can ask to opt out of ever having their otherwise public (e.g. public tweets / twitter icon) information show up on your site

What is bikeshedding?
#
Loqi
bikeshedding is arguing about what color to paint the bikeshed (often applied to naming arguments) instead of the actually important functionality because the latter is harder, and the former is superficial enough that anyone can have an opinion https://indieweb.org/bikeshedding
#
[campegg]
Lol, I was not aware of that concept, but am definitely going to use it now
