aaronpk GWG [tantek] Can we set a proposed time for a microformats roundtable?
#
GWG
capjamesg: I'm always up for a roundtable
#
[tantek]
capjamesg, it's going to be challenging to do in EoY holiday times. might be better to think about how we might setup a monthly instance starting in the new year
#
[tantek]
if we actually do find time to do a one-off in the remainder of this year, that would be amazing

I'm free any weekend pretty much, so long as the time is not after 12pm PT.
#
capjamesg
Re: next year, how about the last Sunday of the month at 9/10am PT?
#
barnaby
that’d be 19:00 CET, which is not ideal for me as I am almost always busy on Sunday evenings
#
capjamesg
What day(s) are best for you barnaby?
#
barnaby
hmm Sunday is the only weekday where I’m almost always busy with something, otherwise I’m very flexible
#
capjamesg
Saturday would work.
#
[tantek]
and Saturdays are almost always busy for me
#
capjamesg
How about Friday?
#
[tantek]
Fridays are better for me yeah

if that helps
#
capjamesg
December?
#
capjamesg
Those are all Thursdays :D
#
[tantek]
GWG, what helps is folks adding their prefs / not-prefs to e.g. https://indieweb.org/2022/Pop-ups/Sessions#Dates so we don't depend on hunting through chat archives or only privilege those who happen to be on chat all the time
#
capjamesg
Have we considered something like Doodle?

pretty sure I already provided feedback for why Doodle is crap for community-based organizing

Ah, I was looking at the wrong month. Apologies.
#

Can youa dd to the wiki?
#
[tantek]
Doodle << Criticism: Bad for any kind of community organizing. Doodle is better suited to corporate hierarchies where one person is in charge of determining the set of possible dates. For community organizing you want "anyone" to be able to suggest dates, adjust suggestions, etc. A community can also use more nuanced date preferences, with arbitrary commentary about the relative (in)convenience of specific dates. A wiki page / list
#
[tantek]
of dates on a page/section are better suited than Doodle for all of these use-cases.

Scalzi as fed.brid.gy customer? “Also, I've had folks ask me if I plan to leave mastodon.social because of the possibility of it being defederated because of various issues, and the answer is, I probably won't, all this moving about is exhausting, and if I ever do move it would be to my own personal mastodon instance which I have no interest in creating now. So you might have to do without me if your server defederates mine,
