oof is it done & offline?
#
gRegor
Yeah, domain is up and says the last newsletter sent. Offering a 1-month Mailchimp promo. I never found docs for exporting newsletters, just subscribers
#
gRegor
One would hope since they're nudging people to the main service, the old newsletters aren't lost, but who knows (no direct experience with TinyLetter)

My RSS to email subscription setup from Mailer lite is getting shut down due to reductions to their free tier. I'll be setting up MailChimp soon.

Let me recommend Buttondown. Very responsive team, good service, very IndieWeb oriented. I can refer you, I think.
#
[lcs]
Does buttondown have a WordPress integration? I'm looking for a better option than MailPoet.
#
[lcs]
Actually maybe writing by hand is better

I have basically no email followers so I'm looking to keep things free for now.
#
GWG
I'm thinking of building something to funnel my mailing lists into a transactional mail service
#
GWG
I found a product that looks like it might handle some of the code and give me a simple API
#
GWG
There was a product for WordPress I tried, but it wasn't worth it for the cost after the beta ended...it handled replies to the mailing list as comments on the post... which is a feature I'd love again
#
[lcs]
That's an interesting feature.
#
GWG
Yes.
#
GWG
I like interactivity
#
[dominik]
Tinyletter had an export feature for the last couple of months before they closed down. They also contacted people pretty early and let them know about the shutdown. When it comes to product shutdowns it was about as well handled as one could realistically hope for.
#
[dominik]
I switched to Buttondown, too. It's not bad.

Seems like https://indieweb.org/2011/Smallest_Federated_Wiki should be split into a page for the (ongoing) project and the existing content from the 2011 session

#
[tantek]
yes that's likely

probably because of redirects right?

Good to hear about TinyLetter export. Can you update the wiki if there's any info about it / it's still working, [dominik]?

what is buttondown
#

Buttondown is a hosted newsletter service designed for personal use https://indieweb.org/Buttondown
#

It's not working anymore, you can't log in anymore

Anyone know if someone is using wiki.js? Should we create a page for that so https://indieweb.org/wiki-projects can be cleaned up? Or should we simply drop the comparisons?
#
[aciccarello]
Looks like that was pulled in from another page
#
[aciccarello]
https://indieweb.org/User:Doug.holton.space was the original person to write up the wiki.js stuff I think

sounds good to me

what was wiki.js
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "wiki.js" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "wiki.js is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
[tantek]
hmm, is there any IndieWeb relevance to wiki.js? I guess it's in the category of software one could self-host?
#
[tantek]
perhaps that's good enough for now
#
[tantek]
aciccarello in the interest of not losing information about it, go ahead and move all the details about it to its own page
#
[tantek]
we can re-assess at some point later if it's too not-relevant to delete
