[tantek]: Been occupied. Jewish Holiday last two days. But even though I'm an organizer, I don't think I have ever had luck on the venue side. I usually swoop in post that

Although I would like to revisit whether in 2025-2026, IWC Online is worth a comeback
#
[tantek]
yup IWC Online is still up in /Planning for consideration for this year for anyone who wants to drive making it happen
#
GWG
I think a reimagining might work

Just putting that note in
#

Is anyone interested in partnering on an Online event, I wonder?

In 2025
#
GWG
We can brainstorm how we might distribute an event so it gets more interest.

[tantek]
what is a web address
#
Loqi
A web address is a more friendly and understandable way to refer to a domain name and what is preferred both in the Web sign-in user experience, and in New York Times articles about domain names https://indieweb.org/web_address

[artlung]
What is IWC online?
#
[artlung]
GWG I think an online camp with that kind of definition I would participate and help facilitate.
#
[artlung]
If it were late summer early fall. If it was into November it will be harder for me to commit to because I expect to be prepping for San Diego in December.
#
GWG
[artlung]: Up for some brainstorming?
#
GWG
IWC Online 2020 tried for a distributed session model in multiple timezones...not sure if that is a good idea to explore
#
[artlung]
I’m switching to dinner and cooldown mode on the day but I’ll say that the 11ty conference last year got me thinking about a cross time zone stream type event for indieweb topics.
#
GWG
[artlung]: I'm going to drive 100 miles soon
#
GWG
Wasn't suggesting now exactly.. just in general
#
[mattl]
Phil Collins flew from London to NY on Concorde for Live Aid, I wonder if anyone would fly that for this… give a talk in both places
#
GWG
Got a link to how that worked?
#
GWG
[mattl]: I'm sad I missed the Concorde experience
#
[mattl]
Okay, this is kinda cool… on Concorde, Phil Collins ran into Cher who didn’t know Live Aid was going on, and then travelled with Phil Collins to the show in the US and performed on stage.

TIL using solidus aka forward slash "/" for italics, e.g. to indicate emphasis, has unintended effects in chat.indieweb.org, where is is turned into a url with `https://indieweb.org/` prepended. Must stop doing that.
