Should this go into testimonials? 😂 😂 😂 "the whole "indie web" thing just feel like a remixed version of MySpace..."

vague feelings make poor testimonials. I don't feel called to inquire for more details about it. If their feeling persists I'm guessing there will be a follow up hashtag usage. (I look forward to it!)

[artlung] I read it as something simple that has mass appeal and easy to hack code :)
#
[tantek]
Also a bit of appeal to nostalgia

Seeing some of the IndieWeb wiki page stubs in the Newsletter, I may fill out a couple of them as I have notes on them in my personal notes.

Correction: more mass accessibility than mass appeal. MySpace had a strong vibe of GeoCities but even easier for a variety of folks to get started

have we talked about clustering HWC events by title? E.g. if you look at https://indieweb.org/this-week/2025-06-06.html#upcoming-events it looks like A LOT of repetition
#
[tantek]
neat! that's worth adding in a few place right? /webring examples maybe /directory
#
[tantek]
re: HWC repetition in newsletter, e.g. this:
#
[tantek]
whereas that could be algorithmically clustered (including the prior instance) into: Homebrew Web Website Club Europe/London <br/> Wednesdays at 7:00pm, June 11, 18, 25, and July 2, 12

aaronpk, yes, there's special case for events pages clustering on wiki pages created for past events
#
[tantek]
pretty sure there is no existing clustering for upcoming events
#
[tantek]
it also strikes me as an area of under-developed algorithms
#
[tantek]
like when I clustered my likes on my home page, I had to think through and write a whole bunch of custom code to reason about the set of likes and how to "optimally" cluster them (de-duplicate the information presented) in a design/layout that was still readable, and still had enough text for linktext to individual post permalinks
#
[tantek]
clusters of similar "posts" (like responses) can have a bunch of aspects which are the same (date, in-reply-to (or site/author), reacji if any)
