[artlung] Well, in my case "artlung" was the handle I chose as username when I had the capability to choose a moniker on whatever system I was on. It was also the root name of the first domain name I "bought" to use. I think of it as "username" and not "alias" or "nickname" or "nick" but different people might use them as synonyms. And because they use them as synonyms, they are, despite the nuances.
