what is amazon
#
Loqi
Amazon sells various products and services, in particular several hosting services like S3 and EC2 that may be used for various indieweb site features, as well as a review post silo https://indieweb.org/amazon

It seems like the sort of thing that might reverse but yeah, it's a violation of the implicit compact of a public wishlist made many years ago

Yeah I got that email too. Disappointing. They'd rather eek out that marginal profit from being able to use more vendors whose systems are too old to update to not disclose the shipping address to the buyer

Callous for them to just suggest using a PO Box too.

What address do we send our invoice to Amazon for the PO Box costs? :)

Look, Ill just state my main sticking point. If a conversation or point is becoming repetitive, or boring, or something else, its fair amongst humans to basically communicate that ideally kindly. I think this default to saying "hey, you have energy about this, put it on your website" is a little misguided. The stuff I put on my website gets crawled super fast and affects all this devilish generative stuff Im still trying to figure out how

Like just to leave it off on a good friday, being told to put it on my website is like being told Im doing indieweb philosophy wrong, its how it feels. When actually in fact it seems more appropriate to me at least to just be told "hey, you have talked about this a lot, we get it'

I don't have a strong opinion about it either way, but the on a website suggestion does seem reasonable for indieweb. I wouldn't say it's about right or wrong, just a possible better venue to put the thoughts down on. Private vs public (or flavors of those, like unlisted) are separate questions.

gRegor
And definitely understand and sympathetic if you don't have private posting capability

[morgan]
Appreciate you gRegor, just looking for a little bit of give and take out of this. I simultaneously recognize my posting was becoming repetitive, but I dont really have any alternatives right now.

My website is hard to really describe, I put one sentence I was "on leave" in the description of one page and it came up like the next day first thing in AI mode results. Which a potential employer may see. Im still trying to figure out how to jostle this reality.

Anyways, good evening, thanks gRegor for entertaining my thought for a minute gRegor++
