I get a 500 error when trying to RSVP to Indieweb events. Still. https://events.indieweb.org/webmention https://artlung.com/rsvp/rsvp20260415pacific https://events.indieweb.org/2026/04/homebrew-website-club-pacific-z7mbQQTEn0Iy gets a plain 500 error with no feedback. The markup I use for RSVPs dates back to March 2025 and is based the markup here.

what is web component
#
Loqi
A web component is a reusable HTML element defined using the Web Components API, and created & used by IndieWeb community members on their own sites https://indieweb.org/web_component
#
gRegor
web_component << web component that fetches and displays webmentions https://github.com/Klohier/webmention-feed
#
Loqi
ok, I added "web component that fetches and displays webmentions https://github.com/Klohier/webmention-feed" to the "See Also" section of /web_component https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=110063&oldid=109975

[Kupietz]
Spotted an administrative point I've been wondering about myself lately. Looking for a little clarity on indienews vs #indieweb-stream.
#
[Kupietz]
"Is IndieNews for syndicating any article posted to an indieweb site?
#
[Kupietz]
• No, we have *http://stream.indieweb.org* for that purpose."
#
[Kupietz]
But https://indieweb.org/stream.indieweb.org cautions against:
#
[Kupietz]
"...spamming the #indieweb hashtag, or overzealously using it for a post that happens to be posted on an indieweb site (and syndicated to Mastodon), but is not about anything actually indieweb related."
#
[Kupietz]
And I've heard people complain about #indieweb-stream being spammed by #indieweb hashtags on articles that are posted to an indieweb site, but are not actually indieweb-related in terms of their content.
#
[Kupietz]
So it would seem that there's a conflict.
#
[Kupietz]
1. Is it ok to tag not-directly-indieweb-related content, but which is posted on an indieweb site, with #indieweb to post it to #indieweb-stream? The former seems to say yes; the latter says no.
#
[Kupietz]
2. If "no", then what's the actual difference between what is appropriate for Indienews and what is appropriate for #indieweb-stream? What might be an example of something suitable for #indieweb-stream but not Indienews?
#
aaronpk
well indienews is supposed to be for longer form content, but that's not a strict rule and it does support notes

aaronpk: [artlung] left you a message 1 week ago: I doublechecked and my markup hasn't changed since March 2025. Here's the parse of the microformats https://granary.io/url?input=html&output=mf2-json&url=https%3A%2F%2Fartlung.com%2Frsvp%2Frsvp20260407fresh - using markup based on https://indieweb.org/rsvp#:~:text=Here%27s%20a%20minimal%20RSVP%20post%20example

#
aaronpk

#
aaronpk

#
aaronpk
`class="p-author h-card u-url"` is not right
