Loqifederation in the context of the IndieWeb refers to services and features that work directly between IndieWeb sites peer-to-peer, without having to setup or create accounts in both places, without a centralized service or silo bottleneck, with perhaps the exceptions of both DNS and Bridgy Fed, the latter an open source ActivityPub proxy many use to federate with Mastodon https://indieweb.org/fediverse
[artlung]I'm not a fan of the way the redirect flattens the definition to federation. I think Fediverse has a specific meaning that is ill-served by that page.
[tantek]Maybe a subsection with heading that focuses on the indieweb-specific aspects and then links to Wikipedia:Fediverse for that broader "specific meaning"?
[tantek](The redirect was also a way to avoid all the "no true Scotsman" fights about what "Fediverse" meant, which software, which protocols etc because the term predates Masto and AP for example)
[artlung]Yes! I love a term which resists disambiguation. It tends to be where lots of human effort and activity lives. But it makes it more work to talk about,
[tantek]Maybe. Sometimes. In this instance it's also seemingly tied to (or occupied by?) unusually argumentative cultures, which tend to be a net negative of emotional labor
[artlung]Advocacy requires argument. The spectrum of rhetorical argumentation runs from the best of us to the absolute worst of us. Let us all seek to argue with comity.
gRegorironically, one of the first pull quote examples on my site was an adactio quote, haha. Looks like I've only used them a few times. However, they appear to all be text that is not in the article itself, like a quote from a video or a song I'm recommending. https://gregorlove.com/2013/05/the-long-web-haul/
