[Mike] I have certain referrers whose users I don’t want visiting my site, so I actually have a cloudflare worker that tracks visitors arriving with those referrers, and then adds them to a secondary list that blacklists those visitors for a length of time afterwards even if they type in the URL directly. It’s not 100% bullet proof of course but it does a good job of dissuading visitors from those sites from continuing to try.
