Is the latest indienews AI spam?
#
[aciccarello]

It reminds me a bit of when I first started posting nearly all just plain text when I first launched my new note posting site / feature

Eg https://tantek.com/2010/001/t1/declaring-independence-building-it and then tap the right arrow button to checkout the first few posts. Very few if any links

should i block surge.sh from indienews? isn't that a shared hosting platform
#
[capjamesg]
aaronpk I think so.
#
[capjamesg]
We haven’t had any meaningful contributions from a surge.sh subdomain so far to the extent I understand.
#
[capjamesg]
But we have had a lot of spam.

also the point of indienews is to share links to your own personal website, not links to a shared web host domain
#
[tantek]
Yeah I’m ok with blocking shared host domains from IndieNews
#
[tantek]
Shared host domains are a great place to "practice" but for anything with longevity you should be on your domain
#
[tantek]
IndieNews, and the newsletter emails are longer term so I’m ok with blocking shared hosts there
