@akkymorefield

regarding http://microformats.org/wiki/value-class-pattern#microformats2_parsers, I am unsure if this implying behaviour belongs in the parsing spec
#
barnabywalters
there are also no real-life examples given in the proposal

although it looks like it was part of the hCalendar spec

uh, somewhere

and note that there's a section there about how to handle it for microformats2
#
barnabywalters
tantek: yes, that’s why I’m looking into it — gRegor added it in a pull request to php-mf2
#
tantek
nice!

the uf1 test cases there should "just work" if you implement the uf2 rules for implied datetime, and the uf1 back compat parsing
#
barnabywalters
well OTTOMH I can’t think of a case where someone would want to publish a dateless time as well as a datetime in the same microformat, so there’s probably no problem
#
barnabywalters
so one case which investigation into this PR has turned up is whether or not the parser should attempt to normalize non-value-class datetimes
#
barnabywalters
e.g. given the value “2014-05-21 15:00:30”, should the result be “2014-05-21T15:00:30”
#
barnabywalters
or “2014-05-21 10pm” be parsed into “2014-05-21T22:00”
#
barnabywalters
according to the spec, both of these normalisations would occur if the date and time parts were parsed separately using value-class, but not if given as a single value

!tell cweiske php-mf2 now has a fetch from URL function Mf2\fetch() in dev-master — would like to hear your thoughts about it (e.g. further debugging/headers support required?) before adding it to the next versioned release https://github.com/indieweb/php-mf2#fetching-microformats-from-a-page https://github.com/indieweb/php-mf2/blob/master/Mf2/Parser.php#L49

Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next
