melody i guess for some context, i'm still trying to scope out whether activitypub is going to work for my needs, i haven't started writing my implementation yet & my interest in federation and the fediverse ends when it gets in the way of my other design goals which are primarily around communication based on informed consent & abuse prevention, ill happily set up a walled garden if need be, but im hoping not to need to
