# xmpp-social [Takyoji] Random curiosity: if I wrote some reply to someone's post on another server, and by nature of addressing, that it'd be addressed to that person's follower's; would it be that my server would download the list of all of that person's followers (and the Actor objects of each, for delivery destination discovery), and deliver it directly, or would/could it be delivered to the other person's server, an <message clipped>
# xmpp-social [Takyoji] Because otherwise it seems like anyone sending anything to a person's followers would just lead into needing to redownload the whole follower list (especially in the case of a person with a massive amount of clients), or risk there being gaps in new messages for recent followers. Or otherwise total silence if the 'followers' collection isn't public or something (if that's permitted)

# Takyoji Bleh, didn't realize the XMPP relay just trimmed messages rather than split into separate messages
# xmpp-social [ajordan] Yikes, it does? That's unfortunate
# xmpp-social [ajordan] Add that to the list of reasons to write a new one :/
# Takyoji As I'll repost the first message: Random curiosity: if I wrote some reply to someone's post on another server, and by nature of addressing, that it'd be addressed to that person's follower's; would it be that my server would download the list of all of that person's followers
# Takyoji (and the Actor objects of each, for delivery destination discovery), and deliver it directly, or would/could it be delivered to the other person's server, and spread out from there?
# Takyoji Also, I guess there's two instances of "to" being written twice in the latest revision. (Ctrl+F "to to")
# Takyoji Noted it in an issue: https://github.com/w3c/activitypub/issues/269
# cwebber2 Takyoji: https://www.w3.org/TR/activitypub/#inbox-forwarding handles this
# Takyoji ahh, that clarifies it significantly. I was unclear of the intent of that section at first, as I may have confused it as being client-to-server related.
# Takyoji (despite that it's obviously categorized under server-to-server)
# Takyoji I believe I finally have a complete, clear picture of the overall architecture now. Hopefully I'll be able to finally progress on my little experiments.
# Takyoji Also, is there any notion of ActivityPub being used in a broadcast-only-like context?
# Takyoji such as an artist posting a new submission to an art site, or similar
# Takyoji given that I've seen a lot of usage of Twitter in some circles being solely that, as well as some art communities looking for ideas about social media integration, thus I figured AP may be a fit in the case, possibly
# xmpp-social [ajordan] I mean in principal you can do delivery and just not follow anyone
