aaronpk well it wasn't usual webmention, it was like webmention with a syndication link or something

[tantek] maybe it was too complicated and didn't work the "obvious" way? we should make POSSEing comments/replies like that trivial without requiring additional work.

[tantek] E.g. when you reply to someone on Mastodon, you don't have to do anything special (as an author) for your reply to propagate to other Mastodon servers showing that post

[tantek] though tbh that's a different problem. the use-case here is replying specifically to the item *on* IndieNews, not the original item

aaronpk Right, my original implementation treated it as showing a copy of the comment on indienews

aaronpk but maybe the easier way to do it is to just have a fork of the conversation on indienews
