jimwins++ that's more than what mine does which is delegate to http://webmention.io and then I have yet to build the infrastructure to pull them down and filter them and cache them and display them the way I want to

[@jcrabapple] I put up a basic /Watching page that uses the Trakt.tv API to display what my wife and I are watching on Plex. All without paying for Trakt VIP. https://cool-as-heck.blog/watching/ #indieweb #plex #trakttv #trakt (https://dmv.community/@jcrabapple/112646523923479809)

[@eb] Once the company becomes profitable, significant portions of revenue will be redirected to the climate emergency and #indieweb creators. (https://social.coop/@eb/112648976799217104)

[@elmine] Imagine it’s January 2025. You encounter a young writer that is completely new to #POSSE web publishing. They find the concept fascinating and want to create such an online space to publish articles, podcasts, some video’s even. What CMS would you recommend this young content... [manton.org] Working with the Threads API reminds me of how frustrating it was to work with Facebook’s main app API years ago, and any silo API that requires manual approval like the App Store. The bureaucracy is at odds with Meta’s claim of supporting the open web and fediverse. (https://www.manton.org/2024/06/20/working-with-the.html)

[manton] ^ opportunity to point elmine to http://Micro.blog if they're open to a service and not just a CMS to install and maintain themselves
#
[tantek]
would have been Known in the past (CMS that was designed with POSSE in mind)

Should still be WithKnown, though that does require installing.
#
[tantek]
I think in general "CMS" requires installing
#
[jeremycherfas]
By that logic, micro. blog is not a CMS.
#
[tantek]
I mean that's basically what I wrote?
#
[tantek]
I wonder if the S in CMS has ever been used to mean "Service" rather than "Software"

[@reillypascal] I really want to start seeing websites be lightweight and efficient again, and to stop having everything need its own dedicated app https://oomfie.city/@Eleonora/112651270044714572 #Enshittification #Spam #Bloatware #Tracking #WebDev #IndieWeb (https://hachyderm.io/@reillypascal/112651293241493260)

[@weirdwriter] Link at end. How would this work on my blog/website? For example, where do I put this so Mastodon can read and interpret it? <meta name="fediverse:creator" content="username@domain" /> https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/pull/30398 #Mastodon #ActivityPub #IndieWeb #Fediverse (https://tweesecake.social/@weirdwriter/112651440327791264)

I think it's bad design to create a standard merely or primarily "for bigger publications"

[@askDNA] Today I read a LOT of simple, text-based, indie websites and blogs. It was quite refreshing to see all the different ideas, stories, and meanderings - particularly on sites with no comments box, no social buttons, no bulk, no bs. Yeah. Maybe there's hope. ...
