#[jemostrom]pfefferle I’ve been having some problem with the WP iOS crashing and it looks like the IndieAuth plugin is causing this. It looks like it hasn’t been updated for a while, is it outdated?
[pfefferle] joined the channel
#[pfefferle]jemostrom yes! I really have to update it asap!
#[jemostrom]pfefferle OK, I’ll mention to the iOS app developers that I’ve contacted you about this.
#[jemostrom]Uploading photos crashes the iOS app and we have been trying to track it down for a while now. So I assume everybody is happy that we found the cause.
#[pfefferle]jemostrom but I cannot see a direct connection between the plugin and picture uploads… does it work when you disable it?

#[jemostrom]Yep, turn on - iOS crashes on upload, turn off - upload works just fine. Repeatable. Although the iOS app shouldn’t crash even if a plugin does something wrong … so I’m not blaming you ?
#prtksxnaヽ(ー_ー )ノ An auth plugin crashing the ios app, that is massive indirection!
#[jemostrom]I’m not 100% sure that IndieAuth is to blame, the only thing I can say for sure is that it seems repeatable for me. The iOS app could do something strange which causes it to crash and IndieAuth is completely innocent. So I hope they can figure out what the exact problem is.
#Loqiissue is a special kind of article post that is a reply to typically some source code, though potentially anything at a source control repository https://indieweb.org/issue
#[chrisaldrich]GWG: the way I'm reading it, it sounds like WordPress thinks that IndieWeb is a trademarked private entity and isn't letting the plugin through thinking that it infringes on the group's rights. They're just being overly careful.
