#[Vanessa]I know, this is all so very basic for you guys, but new to me.
#[Vanessa]I think I might actually have a site just about running (blog.vanessahamshere.uk). It's only taken me most of the week - fiddling around, removing Cloudflare, making sure WordPress directs to the non-www to pick up my SSL cert. I've installed the Indieweb plugin and have added some of my other sites, but only Twitter and GitHub link back. Facebook, Instagram and Microblog don't, although Microblog has verified me on its end. Hmm.
#[Vanessa]What should I do next? Webmentions, or something else?
#GWGI think Webmentions with the Semantic Linkbacks plugin is worth it

#chrisaldrichVanessa, there aren't many sites besides Twitter and GitHub which will link back. Some services like /Bridgy work around that problem for you though.

#[Vanessa]Oh OK. As long as they don't and it's not me being a twerp, that's fine.

#chrisaldrichVanessa, Those two have oAuth as well, so you can use them for IndieAuth sign in pieces, like using your domain name for signing into the IndieWeb wiki.
#chrisaldrichFor identity purposes, it's nice to have rel-me's on all of your other web presences, but you can't always control whether they return the favor.
#chrisaldrichVanessa++ for having a site up with rel-me and her first post!
