[chrisaldrich] [dougbeal] from my understanding the core themes are reference standards of a sort, but each year they pick a site type and build something that should be considered best in class. So 2014 was a "magazine theme", 2015 and 2016 were "blogging" themes, and 2017 is geared more towards being a "business theme".
