[asuh]
hey GWG, I've been keeping up from the sidelines here with a busy schedule lately
#
GWG
[asuh]: Keeping up? What do you think of all that is going on?
#
[asuh]
I'm enjoying the discussions, still learning when I can't contribute here. Always trying to think of ideas to help my own development or with client sites
#
GWG
[asuh] Hopefully the svg thing worked out well
#
GWG
I think that was the last request of yours we discussed
#
[asuh]
Yes, after initial update from Github, it's been great. Load weight still cut in half
#
GWG
asuh, I have other things coming down the pike, as always
#
[asuh]
awesome, looking forward to it
#
[asuh]
I think a big gap for me with client or friend sites that I can influence is the disconnect between their WordPress instances and using Facebook. It's too bad syndication is not an option there
#

Trying to figure out fixes to Parse This, which touches Post Kinds and Yarns, which causes me to fix my mf2 theme markup...
#
GWG
It was
#
GWG
Facebook taketh away
#
[asuh]
I don't think I quite understand Parse This for my purposes
#
GWG
asuh, Parse This takes a url and turns it into jf2 data
#
GWG
That's it
#
GWG
So, that can be a single post for Post Kinds, or a feed for Yarns
#
GWG
And more
#
[asuh]
ok and I see it's related to rel-feed. These things kind of make sense but I need to sit down with them a little more to grasp them better
#
GWG
Rel feed is just a way to help feed discovery, which Parse This does too
#
GWG
It also turns RSS and JSONfeed into jf2
#
GWG
Aaronpk has a similar library, xray
#
GWG
His adds direct Twitter and GitHub parsing using their APIs
#
[asuh]
interesting
#
GWG
snarfed has granary, which converts a variety of things into other formats
#
GWG
Basically, Microsub consumes jf2. So does Post Kinds. It doesn't, because of this, have to know how to consume anything else.
#
GWG
It just calls this other black box
#
GWG
I like bridging all things

GWG, I don't remember if I previously asked but for Bridgy inside of SL, did there used to be an option to enable Bridgy connections by default? I create a new post in WordPress, and instead of having to remember to check the box(es) that i want to syndicate to, they're already enabled when I to to the New Post page
#
GWG
You did
#
GWG
I want to do it more intelligently than just checked by default
#
[asuh]
ok, sorry for asking again πŸ™‚ I also see I created a Github issue. Gotta catch back up with my former self haha
#
GWG
I still don't know how to do it more intelligently

https://blog.ripstech.com/2019/wordpress-image-remote-code-execution/ - especially "However, the Path Traversal is still possible and can be exploited if plugins are installed that incorrectly handle Post Meta entries." - something to review for community plugins?

GWG, Post Kinds `#replybox-meta`, using WP 5.0.3 with Classic Editor plugin enabled, adds `.hide-if-js` to the metabox. Looking through the repo, it’s not clear how this is happening
