Good morning!
#
[Will_Monroe]
In a continuation from my comment yesterday, I'm troubleshooting my connection with Aperture. Can anyone with a WP setup advise me on the best place to embed my link rel microsub token?

Did you try the plugin that does it automatically ?
#
[Will_Monroe]
[dshanske] the great thing about these lessons in troubleshooting is how memorable they become when you make dumb mistakes 🙂 Yes, it is installed so I guess I don't need to embed the link. Still, I have an issue which I filed on the Aperture Github issues list: https://github.com/aaronpk/Aperture/issues/75 I'm sure I'm missing something simple.
#
GWG
This seems to be an IndieAuth issue, not an aperture issue per se
#
GWG
You uses your root domain to log into aperture?
#
GWG
I think the issue is related to the IndieAuth plugin. Do you have multiple accounts on your WordPress instance?
#
[Will_Monroe]
This is valuable information. No, I just have one.
#
GWG
Then it should automatically set it to the sole user. Open an issue on the WordPress IndieAuth plugin

Did anything change with your IndieAuth plugin recently [Will_Monroe] ?
#
[Will_Monroe]
Will do! Just a bit later this morning.
#
[Will_Monroe]
BTW, I always direct my communications to you using [dshanske] but you appear as GWG. Should I be directing my @-mentions elsewhere?
#
[Will_Monroe]
[aaronpk] I don't think anything changed. I didn't make any changes.
#
GWG
I have one on Slack the other on IRC
#
GWG
Either works
#
GWG
But it is returning the author archive URL over the base
#
[Will_Monroe]
[dshanske] I'll open the IndieAuth issue as you suggest.
#
[Will_Monroe]
[aaronpk] I'll close the Aperture ticket since the problem seems to lie elsewhere.
#
aaronpk
👍 maybe link to the other issue from it in case people find it later
#
[Will_Monroe]
Good idea

I know the issue

[Will_Monroe]: There is a setting under IndieAuth to declare which user is the root user
#
GWG
Can you set it?
#
GWG
It is supposed to automatically set it if there is only one user.. but that may be the issue
#
[Will_Monroe]
[dshanske] that did it! I changed the WP IndieAuth settings > Web Sign-in > Set User to Represent Site URL to my actual username instead of the "None" option that was there by default. Everything works again! Thank you.
#
GWG
I think I need to fix the code that sets it by default then
#
[Will_Monroe]
In my case, that would have helped.

for video and photo post kinds (using the post kinds plugin of course), are the photos supposed to by uploaded in the response properties area? Even if the photo is self-hosted and not being pulled in from somewhere else?

I think so. Otherwise, you should be able to have them in the media library, and then pick from it.

Wuick question. Has anyone gotten the social network auto poster to work with shorter posts? I kinda want to use my own apps to post once more rather than relying on Brid.gy.,

I uninstalled it because I kept getting really weird output.

You seem to fix that, though, haven’t you? That’s another reason why I think I’m getting off of WordPress. I wanna use more of my own stuff in my own website, so to speak.

Hey David, did you have a special reason to tag the wrapper for syndication links with the ID 'syndication-links' instead of a class? When I display the links in the list views, I have the same ID multiple times on one page. This is bad practice according to the W3C.

[chrisbergr]: I don't recall, to be honest. It was a while ago. I don't mind adjusting it
