At this time I still have gravatar images for the author's avatar. As previously mentioned, this will change. But in the meantime I wonder why the URL's of the images are rewritten like this: https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/4e0805498bd96ba3d561f4b276d24167?s=50&d=https://christian.hockenberger.us/wp-content/plugins/semantic-linkbacks/img/mm.jpg&r=x

[chrisbergr]
What is the reason for this semantic-linkbacks/img/mm.jpg in my avatar?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "reason for this semantic-linkbacks/img/mm.jpg in my avatar" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "reason for this semantic-linkbacks/img/mm.jpg in my avatar is ____", a sentence describing the term)

[chrisbergr]
- And why is it x-rated? 🙂
#
beko
Oh, GWG explained this to me once. I just can not find it again o0
#
GWG
I can explain it
#
GWG
But if you install the latest webmention, it disables that code
#
GWG
I rewrote the feature entirely
#
GWG
It was too aggressive
#
GWG
I have nothing to do with the x
#
GWG
[chrisbergr]: The code was originally supposed to cache the lack of an avatar and store a link to a local resource.
#
GWG
For some reason, it was storing it when it shouldn't
#
GWG
The new version caches the lack of an avatar for a day
#
beko
That x-rated is your WP default audience setting, iirc
#
GWG
So, it no longer stores it permanently, or stores what it is
#
[chrisbergr]
I belive (can not proof it) that most of the times the other pages receiving webmentions from me are using this mm.jpg image instead of the intended one. But yeah, will not be a problem in the future.
#
GWG
[chrisbergr]: The fact that we are slowly moving pieces into webmentions is probably hindering bug fixes
#
beko
GWG: this can probably be closed. It was the wrong place anyway: https://github.com/dshanske/indieweb-post-kinds/issues/287
