#digiSalthat's cool. glad youre thinking about it.
#GWGdigiSal: I've been thinking about it for a long time. I just haven't figured out how it would work
#digiSali only miss the reusable blocks in Gutenberg.
#GWGdigiSal: Other than articles what would you use it for?
#digiSalI setup a block that has the Subscribe to Mailist code in it. So instead of pasting html every time, with gutenburg, i can select the block that has the code
#digiSalembeding youtube videos is easier with gutenberg. no embed code needed.
#digiSalplus it's modern. maybe we could get folks to really try indieweb if something modern like gutenberg works?
#GWGdigiSal: I understand. The two reasons involve my dislike of writing javascript and my issues with how to migrate the Post Kinds design to blocks
#GWGI know I'll have to bite the bullet eventually
#digiSalthere's got to be some cheat around it lol maybe put the post kind stuff in a block? a reusable block?
#GWGWell, Post Kinds stores a lot of metadata about the post, and generates the context.
#GWGLikely, the way to do it would be to have a block handle the rendering.
#digiSallet's say i didnt have post kinds installed, how would i still post an article into the indieweb?
#GWGArticles would work. They don't require any markup.
#GWGIt's the other types that need some markup to work properly
#digiSaloh, that's interesting since all I do are articles currently. i'm still new.
#GWGit is things like replies where it really works well.
#GWGYou can reply to other people's posts on your own site and such.
#GWGBut, remember, Indieweb isn't just a bunch of plugins.
#GWGThey are just things I built to help me do this.
#digiSalyup. i love the idea of it. so i'll keep the plugins and start using the other post kinds.
#digiSalriddle me this. Can i reply to a tweet from my website?
#GWGYes. However, there's some stuff you need to do for that to work. The easiest is to register for Bridgy.
#digiSali have bridgy. i'll look into it. thanks for the talk. ill be back. gotta go.
