# jeremycherfas Has anyone already switched to Classic Press? I'm wondering how complex it is to get old posts in.
# jeremycherfas The site does make a very good case.
# petermolnar jeremycherfas: https://www.classicpress.net/migrate-wordpress-5-8-website-to-classicpress/ might help
# jeremycherfas Thanks Peter. I read that, and wanted to look for personal experiences only because they obviously have a positive point of view on the process. But I will probably do it anyway.
# [snarfed] the history of forks due to change in big established projects is...not great. I get that some of us don't like Gutenberg, but that's what WordPress is now. the biggest value of WordPress is the ecosystem, and that ecosystem won't hesitate to leave us behind. if we don't get on board and at least keep IndieWeb tools and plugins compatible with it, we're going to lose our biggest self-hosted onramp for new people.
# jeremycherfas I understand what you8 are saying snarfed, I'm speaking purely personally as someone who pays the admin tax myself on three WP sites that truly do not need block editing. Only two are slightly IndieWeb. Maybe if there is a big redesign of any of them in the future, I will migrate (back) to WP. For now, though, I'm not seeing any advantage **to me** in staying with WP.
# jeremycherfas I do also remember when WP was itself a fork ...
