starrwulfe Can't get Wordpress back up even after renaming/deleting the SL plugin folder. Database might be toasted... Gonna have to totally rebuild from scratch. Kinda what I get for not building in some nightly backup process from the start.

GWG I'm sorry... I've never seen a plugin failure do what you describe

starrwulfe Also thinking it's better to set up a VPS than managed hosting; at least that way I can make snapshots every 3 hours and roll back any changes easier. Again, things I do at work that should apply everywhere.

starrwulfe @GWG, could be me asking Wordpress to do too much; had Yarns in there working as a RSS aggregator as well as some other things that may have created the perfect storm that got tipped over the edge.

starrwulfe Is there a way to force Wordpress to update itself thru some URL based command that would work?

starrwulfe If this was a VPS, I could try bringing the web server down and then back up or restart the database and so on. No options here for that though
