# [snarfed] It's in Bridgy's docs, https://brid.gy/about#micropub , but afaik nowhere in the synd links plugin UI, and maybe not in its docs either

# [pfefferle] [tantek] updates are federate but ignored by mastodon!
# [pfefferle] A lot of these issues described in the thread are because of limitation on Hoster site (for example blocking the .well-known path) which makes it hard to have a „simply works“ installation!

# [pfefferle] We have to fight with different setups, envs and other plugins so much!
# [pfefferle] Most of my time that goes into the ActivityPub plugin is support and/or descriptions, readmes and auto health tools 😞
# cambridgeport90 Hi all. this is probably a question that's asked before... I'm trying to fill out my extended profile on my site, and the GPG key field asks for a URL. what if my key is not stored on a keyserver? (I no longer use Keebase.) it's just a file at this point; remains though mostly in Kleopatra. I can copy the entire block though from the key itself, but the way the field is labeled, that wouldn't indicate that as valid.
# [pfefferle] [snarfed] most of the issues described in the thread are documented in the plugin. But often times people do not want to read stuff, they expect them to simply work. But that’s not that easy if you have to fight with „self hosted“ software
# [pfefferle] (At least the AP plugin)
# cambridgeport90 I find that it works quite nicely, but then again, I like tweeking with the underlying infrastructure my site is hosted on as much as I like playing with my site itself.

# [pfefferle] I tried to fix it by talking directly with them in the WordPress hosting community but with limited success
# [pfefferle] I will send you some examples later

# cambridgeport90 .Well-Known is also not supported natively on some operating systems, either; you can get it on IIS, for example, but not without installing the Certify module first. Then again, I'm probably the last bulwark gainst IIS completely dying off, anyway.
