# [pfefferle] [tantek] we talked about the issues with well-known yesterday. And you wanted to get to know the other common issues I stumble upon. The next big problem I have to fight with is content negotiations. ActivityPub is using content negotiations a lot, but most WordPress caching plugins (even the big ones) do not support it properly. So they return the first requested format until you clear the cache. That means if ActivityPub
# [pfefferle] was first users will see JSON responses even in the browser and if the user visits the site first, the ActivityPub request will see the HTML instead of the JSON file.

# [chrisbergr] Years ago I rejected all attempts to use caching plugins because it didn't work in conjunction with Semantic Linkbacks.
# [chrisbergr] I don't know if that works better now, I'm not at that point yet in the current development of my new site.
# [chrisbergr] Few plugins managed to regenerate the cache for the affected post after receiving webmentions, but none managed to regenerate the archives as well. This was of course unworkable with my goal at the time of displaying Comment counters and such in the overviews.
# [pfefferle] [tantek] it is not incompatible by default, but ignored by most of the big players.
