[TMichelleMoore] You and I were the first two of the three I meant ๐Ÿ™‚

it might be that SemPress uses p-name for the content, where there is no headline

[pfefferle]
and there is a lot of activity on the plugin since the "acquisition" https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-activitypub/compare/0.17.0...master

Hey [pfefferle] You know the publish box on the top right corner of the new post screen. There you can set status, visibility and pubdate. What do you think about the possibility to set some kind AP visibility there. And a global setting what the default value is? So I can set it to not ap-publish by default and manually choose to spread the word to the fediverse.

[pfefferle], gregsplace's posts had a title, so looks like that was including it twice: https://github.com/pfefferle/SemPress/blob/master/sempress/entry-header.php

gRegor
Original posts aren't online now though

Then itโ€™s hard to debug
#
[pfefferle]
๐Ÿ˜ž
#
[pfefferle]
It was the first report of such a problem so I think it might be a glitch or a problem with a plugin
#
[pfefferle]
[chrisbergr] I understand the second part, that you do not want to federate everything, but is visibility something practical for a blog? Isnโ€™t there anything public by default?

[chrisbergr]
[pfefferle] I understand your point. But some of us are also excluding posts with defined taxonomies from the rss/atom feeds to not to disturb subscribers with uninteresting noise.
#
[chrisbergr]
For example: I do not want my checkins visible in mastodon. Because of the auto post (pesos from swarm) that default setting would be pretty helpful
#
[chrisbergr]
And there is another thing I noticed yesterday: Many times I need to update the post 2 times (very individual case for me) because I can set the default category only on update, not on creation. This of course changes the url of the post. So the link to my source is wrong. So I'd prefer to publish this via AP after I'm reade.
#
[chrisbergr]
And the other thing is, that if I publish a translated copy of the post, it yould also be on mastodon, I dont like this either.
#

Re: SemPress, it doesn't look that difficult. entry-header.php adds p-name if there's a title. content-aside.php adds a p-name if it's not search.
#
gRegor
So a post with a title would have two p-name
#
gRegor
Maybe gregsplace can make a new post to see it in action
#
gregsplace
Funny enough, I was about to do a post
#
gregsplace
Problem is in order to clean up the disaster I made of the database, I had to tear down and rebuild the whole site, but at least its using only IndieWeb plugins now
#
gRegor
Just saw your new post. I'll file a github issue with the mf2 parse
#
[pfefferle]
Thanks [gRegorLove]
#
[pfefferle]
It is so weird that no one found this bug earlier! It is so obvious! I have to check when it was introduced!
#
[pfefferle]
[chrisbergr] ah, maybe I misread visibility here. You only talk about federate or not? Not visible to only a group of people? The first one is totally understandable!

GWG
Hi, [pfefferle]

GWG
[pfefferle]: Always nice to see you
#
[pfefferle]
Yes, I hope we can see us in person one time!
#
[pfefferle]
Automattic is very generous with sponsoring conferences, so maybe we can find an IndieWebCamp โ˜บ

[pfefferle]: Nuremberg looks like it might happen. Berlin is in question...Do you leave Germany?
#
gregsplace
Okay, a tad bit confused... trying to get GitHub and my site linked up via Brid.gy but I don't see a sopt in the SL iinterface to drop in the Micropub token. Am I missing something?
#
gregsplace
sorry, Syndication Links I meant there
#
GWG
gregsplace: There is, if you enable GitHub and save, it should appear.
#
gregsplace
GWG, nope... despite having the box checked and saved, no entry field, unless Brave is somehow screwing with the page
#
GWG
gregsplace: Screenshot? I wrote the code and am happy to troubleshoot
#
[chrisbergr]
[pfefferle] yes, I meant if the post should be federated or not. Sorry, didn't knew that vocabulary ๐Ÿ™‚
#
[pfefferle]
[dshanske] I do, but no idea if Automattic will sponsor that โ˜บ
#
[pfefferle]
Nรผrnberg is no Problem, I already checked that out
#
GWG
We need more IWCs
#
[pfefferle]
IndieWordCamps ? ๐Ÿ˜‰
#
GWG
[pfefferle]: You can organize the first.

[pfefferle]: WordCamp US is scheduled for August in Maryland. You could try to convince them to send you
#
GWG
I was outside that hotel once. It looked nice
#
[pfefferle]
I would be more interested in the Community Summit
#
[pfefferle]
August is not the best time, because it is when my kids have school/kindergarden holidays
#
GWG
[pfefferle]: That's by invitation only though
#
GWG
Bring them along? Have them go see Washington DC.
#
GWG
It's a touristy place

GWG
Either way, if I meet you, the last community member I haven't spent time with in person who I have spent time with online is [KevinMarks]

Nope, same results in Brave, Edge and Chrome. No input box once the GitHub box is checked and then Save is clicked. Only browser I haven't tried is FireFox, and that has accessibility issues for me
