# 01:04 tantek should we start a wiki listing all the people publicly quitting various silos?
# 01:04 tantek is this interesting? useful? insightful? inspiring? inciting?
# 01:09 tantek would it be a roster of everyone who's been to an indiewebcamp with an active indieweb site?
# 01:09 aaronpk we already have the guest list for each year that covers that
# 01:10 tantek sure but a summary directory of sorts would be nice
# 01:10 tantek that way someone new showing up would could see who's involved
# 01:10 tantek years merely parenthetical after the person's name
# 01:13 tantek sure - but only for those who have participated in an IndieWebCamp
# 01:13 tantek we could add a section for remote only participants perhaps
# 01:13 tantek who haven't made it to an indiewebcamp in person
# 01:15 tantek I would distinguish in-person vs. remote just because there's a very different level of trust afforded to meeting people in person
# 01:17 tantek as opposed to just being a list of "here are random cool people in the insiders club or something"

# 20:29 barnabywalters That was a great article, and the selection UI is something I’ve wanted to do for ages but wasn’t sure if it was possible
# 20:29 barnabywalters Copy/paste URL, text, author name, URL, put in a h-card with h-cite… it can all be automated
# 20:30 tantek I like the design of UI that shows up once you select the text
# 20:30 tantek I'm thinking of extending my citation UI to support that
# 20:30 tantek the little input boxes and the bottom of my blog posts
# 20:30 barnabywalters My thoughts: use the selection and range Apis to give arbitrary node selections drag handles, augmented with h cite and h card
# 20:33 barnabywalters !tell erinjo reading your web actions and button sluts article, great UI brainstorming, how important do you consider the "not leaving the page whilst action in progress" aspect?
# 20:33 Loqi Ok, I'll tell her that when I see her next
# 20:34 tantek barnabywalters - IMO, it's pretty important to not leave the page while action is in progress
# 20:35 tantek the mini new window seems fairly unobtrusive. I'd try and see what Twitter's tweet actions (their term!) do on mobile.
# 20:36 tantek of course it is. anything to do with "web intents" is inconsistent. that's the problem.
# 20:36 tantek it's clear people at Twitter had different opinions and no one opinion "won"

# 21:47 erinjo !tell barnabywalters In general for interactions that are fairly small and limited to just one or a few steps it's best to keep people on the original page if it's likely they'll still want to see that page. You'll see it in other bookmark, favorite, login, zoom, etc type actions. In a scenario where someone was reading an article, and wanted to email it to a friend, if that action could be accomplished through an overlay, drop down,
# 21:47 erinjo popup, etc, I think in many cases it's preferred over navigating to a new page, and then having to navigate back to the article.
# 21:47 Loqi Ok, I'll tell him that when I see him next
