tantek measures have been quite challenging in the past

tantek the only real world experience we have so far with making them work is with hRecipe

tantek rather than expand microformats2 parsing types with m-* properties, I think it may be preferable to develop a <measure> element extension to HTML5 (which I can propose in the HTMLWG, plus we can start using experimentally in the wild like <action>)

tantek e.g. <measure value=nnn unit=uuu>human readable measure</measure>

tantek similar to <data> and <time> in that respect

tantek we can also likely come up with a canonicalization of measured values. there's previous work on canonicalizing measured values in the CSS OM we can likely re-use.

tantek and then just by adding special parsing rules for a <measure> element, we should be able to avoid introducing m-* properties (and just use existing p-* properties etc.)
