#@tIndieWebCamp NYC2 day 2 is off to a quiet creative start. Sounds: AC humming, keys clicking, occassionally furiously. (ttk.me t4j11) (twitter.com/_/status/769922497231720449)
#@tOne of the things I still find challenging is posting photos. May try some posting / coding iteration today. #indieweb (ttk.me t4j12) (twitter.com/_/status/769923494431772672)

#@miklbHello #indiewebcamp hack day. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is building. This is part of a test from an undisclosed location :-) (twitter.com/_/status/769926493224919040)

#cmalhttps://unixcorn.org/ ↠if you need free-price hosting services, we just brought the new homepage up. there will be some tweaking and the site will be also available in English in a few days :)
#cmalaaronpk: "Proposed feature: (work involved to complete: unknown)" ↠should I remove this part from the Voice section of /IRC, given that the feature is now fully operational?
#cmal(also, textual emojis are usually neutral in terms of racial/gender considerations, which I really admire given all the whiteness in modern emojis)
#larry_kDo indieweb peeps ever edit/revise their posts after posting them? (Kind of a follow-up from yesterday's discussion of draft/ under construction posts)
#cmallarry_k: yes, and you're supposed to resend your webmentions (/salmentions) to let others know it's been edited
#cmalso that for instance if you wrote a reply to someone's post, their website may know that your comment has been updated and update it in the comment section of the original post as well
#GWGLunch order(yes, this is on topic): I would like a fishwich, hold the slaw and kettle chips. Add fries, and a side of tartar sauce for dipping(the fries). I would like a 20oz diet coke for caffeination purposes, I would like my fishwich on a club roll. I would also like a single black and white cookie for later. If they are out of cookies, their most generic muffin(bran, corn, blueberry)
#@miklbConsider this my successful unmanned #indieweb note. Automated u-syndication links to static Jekyll notes from brid.gy. Kludgy but working. (twitter.com/_/status/769955702362157056)
#[schmarty]i'm using the Ricoh Theta S. it is interesting and different from using other digital cameras. i have had the best results from using its tripod mount to put it on a selfie stick and using the android app to trigger it over wifi.
#[schmarty]the app and wifi connection can be flaky at times, but overall it works well.
#[schmarty]i haven't had much success with video, yet, but images seem to work well. the app automatically downloads each one to my phone.
#[schmarty]the files are quite large, unfortunately. ~4mb.
#[schmarty]aaronpk: does quill have an upload size limit? i got a size limit error in the js console when posting from quill to my site and wasn't sure if they was on my server's side or on quill's side.
#aaronpkah is that what that was? I tried uploading a panorama yesterday from my phone and it wasn't working

#[schmarty]hmm. not finding anything about panoramas, 360 photos, or photospheres on the wiki. am i missing something? would this be a good topic for the wiki?
#aaronpkif it's something you publish on your website it's a good topic for the wiki!
#sknebelhttp://markapp.io/ - interesting framing of the difficulty of using JS: JS libraries that work without explictly writing JS code are useable by more people, since HTML+CSS knowledge is more widespread
#sknebel(although the site itself is an example of "JS for pure text content"...)

#[schmarty]i went small with the panoramas bit. i simply documented my use of them in the examples section of /photo
#aaronpkI often have unrelated photos in a sequence on my home page and I don't want them to cluster in a way that implies they are related
#tantekmy use-case is I want sometimes I want to post a bunch (a ton?) of photos and not worry that it would be "filling up" my homepage or stream etc.
#larry_kis there a list someplace (like on indieweb.org) of personal sites, to compare and get ideas etc. from?
#[schmarty]tantek posts photos from ipod touch to instagram because the ui is fairly convenient, including location and person tagging
#[schmarty]previous flow: browses to photo on instagram website, copy-pastes permalink into new post, copy-pastes caption, inspects source for the jpg URL to download and scp to server.
#[schmarty]got rid of half the steps by writing a new bookmarklet
#[schmarty]on any single instagram post page, clicking the bookmarklet opens an alert with text to copy and paste. includes image url, permalink, and caption all at once.
#LoqiTantek-ing is a method of encouraging people to contribute to the wiki by indirectly prompting the person who first mentioned the term to create a short wiki dfn page for it https://indieweb.org/tanteking
#Loqinotifications in the context of the IndieWeb refer to all forms and ways that an independent web site can receive a message indicating something of interest (server notifications), and potentially relay that information (preferably in realtime) to one or more devices used by the owner of that site (client notifications) https://indieweb.org/clustering

#@tAnd that’s a wrap for IndieWebCamp 2016 NYC2! Several here want to (re)start a Homebrew Website Club NYC. Stay tuned. (ttk.me t4j17) (twitter.com/_/status/770001163685158912)
