GWGWhile I sometimes write some things without him, having more than one person makes it better. And for a possible WordPress inclusion someday, you need more than one eye on it

nebulonfor some reason I entirely missed it :-) even though we try to make self-hosting viable for non-technical people since a year, which seems to be pretty much inline with indieweb, as far as I understand from what I have read
aaronpknebulon: there's a pretty wide variety of hosting options people here use. as a community we intentionally don't prefer/recommend any in particular, since it ultimately doesn't make a difference as to whether our sites can communicate
aaronpkthe most important part is that you have your own domain name, so that you can change where your site is hosted without changing your online identity
calumryannebulon: VPS in general seems to offer greater flexibility. Understanding how to setup is getting easier (in my opinion) with nicer interfaces and better documented with tutorials.
nebulonagree, I have founded Cloudron, which is an opensource platform to enable running apps (say wordpress) on your own server (mostly VPS), an own domain is a central piece there as public facing pages on an IP is obviously no good (we didn't advertize the domain aspect as much so far though)
jkphlHello Indieweb! Final gentle reminder for the late shift and the folks outside Europe: today is your last chance order one of the IWC hoodies I'm gonna produce and bring to the IWC Berlin. The hoodies will cost € 29 (incl. 19% VAT; I should be able to skip the VAT for people outside the EU and people providing me with a valid EU VAT ID) and won't be Berlin branded in any way, they'll just show the logo on the front. You don't have
jkphlYou don't have to attend the IWC in Berlin to order -- I'm happy to send them wherever you are. All details including available sizes and colours can be found at https://indieweb.org/2016/Berlin#IndieWebCamp_Hoodies. Right now we've got 16 orders. The price should drop if we can hit 30. So, why not go and grab yours now?
sknebelIRC messages are limited to 512 byte, and that includes "headers", so the content length is something "random" below that (depending how long your username, host, ... are)
sl007*is working on IndieAuth for node and working as Malwarenhändler* Greetz to Nuremberg. aaronpk: Is it intended that https://indieweb.org/Guest_List redirects to 2014/UK/ - the link is mentioned in the indieauth.com "Join Us" section …
sl007[more userfriendly] suggestion : if the user authenticated first time and there is no rel="me" link let him create one by entering his url, for twitter e.g. POST account/update_profile
aaronpki'm trying to figure out how facebook indicates a post is shared with a limited audience. i have a feeling the people i share a post with see something different than me
