#ZegnatWill be updated as soon as sebsel and I have decided on how we will handle this week's
#ZegnatWe happen to be in the same part of the Netherlands, so the 1-2 hour train ride to Schiphol can be spared if no international participants have just landed (e.g. petermolnar)
#LoqiCASSIS, short for Client And Server Scripting Implementation Subset, is an intersection of the syntaxes of Javascript and PHP, as well as an open source library, cassis.js, that enables writing code once, and having it natively execute in both JS and PHP https://indieweb.org/CASSIS
#cweiskeI just joined, how is remote rsvp different to a local rsvp?
jihaisse joined the channel
#tantekcweiske - right now there is no format way to express it, so in that sense it's only different in prose of an RSVP comment
#tantekfrom a practical perspective, if an event has a remote-participation option, then a remote RSVP helps the event organizer plan for 1) making sure the remote-participation is working, and 2) not worry about any food/drink/seating in-person for that RSVP
#tantekI suppose that's more of the use-case than what's different
#tanteklol KevinMarks you didn't mark yourself as going :P
#tantekKevinMarks: I invited >100 people. I'd suggest you also personally reach out 1:1 (e.g. txt or IM) to folks and let them know you'll be there and running it
#brunoetcone more question: I was taking a look at this github repo: https://github.com/mmistakes/made-mistakes-jekyll from mademistakes.com and it's such an amazing blog scheme. But I can´t understand if the owner set it open to copy, because on his site I see a copyright symbol
#brunoetcI'm sorry if it's a dumb question. It's just that it's still unclear for me how open for use an "open source" project may be
#tantekbrunoetc: there is a difference between the copyright on the code (e.g. in the github repo), and the copyright on the content of a site (e.g. the human readable text and photos of posts)
#brunoetcsure! I know the blogposts shouldn't be copied. but could the infrastructure be used?
#calumryanAfternoonLooking like 3 confirmed (including myself) for HWC London this week

#[barryf]I'm in, calumryan. May be bringing someone too. I think there are ~25 people in Europe/London timezone on the IRC People page. Anyone else fancy joining this week?
#[barryf](of course, that also includes people in places like Scotland)

#[jeremycherfas]No matter calumryan I can’t make it on Wednesday in any case. I live in Rome, but visiting London later in the week. It would have been fun.
#Zegnat[jeremycherfas] if you are ever visiting the Netherlands on a Wednesday, let us know. We have a precedent for doing HWC at Schiphol

#[jeremycherfas]@zegnat I saw that, and was jealous, both because Schipol is one of my more favourite large airports and because I just like the sound of it. One day.

#aaronpkmy vanity call sign application just went through! so now I have to decide whether to make w7apk.com a hilariously old-school website like everyone else's ham radio websites, or run a separate copy of p3k there or something.
#aaronpkright now it just redirects to my #hamradio tag which is mostly bookmarks. check it out if you want to see a blast from the past of web design.

#[schmarty]Don't forget tables for layout, but also mf2 markup.
#aaronpkapparently i need to make a 3D and shaded/glossy version of my call sign for the header
#aaronpkUS call signs all begin with K, W or N (K and W are most common in this area, also there are a few exceptions). 7 is the number allocated for Oregon. I chose "apk" as a shorthand of "aaronpk"
#[shurcool]It's nothing big. I've been working on adding an activity feed for my site that basically shows the public work that I do (and I/anyone can use it to answer questions like "What have I been working on/doing"). It's now the index page at https://dmitri.shuralyov.com/
#[shurcool]Right now it sources all events from GitHub API where all my work is, but the idea is that I can add additional sources of events in the future... so if I begin to use github less and do stuff elsewhere, that activity feed can continue to show _everything_ I actually do.
#gRegorLoveNice. Looks like you're using github issues as blog posts too? Interesting.
#[shurcool]Haha, yeah, I use an issue tracker (that looks like GitHub's, but it's implemented in Go and is open source) as a blog. :stuck_out_tongue:
