GWG miklb: I have a plugin called Postmatic that has an interesting feature. It creates subscriber level users to store user data. It is used for email where you can comment by reply. Why not store commenter info in the user table.

GWG I've thought about it for a while. If h-cards could be stored in the user table, it could be a basic nicknames cache.

tantek because otherwise people are more likely than not to confuse the two

tantek E.g. I remember arguing even with kevinmarks about this, who I think was at first advocating that every @-mention in a tweet should be a "person-tag" when it clearly is "just" a mention
