#ZegnatAre you sure it finds a correct endpoint? Or is it a true “apparently”?
#[jeremycherfas]I am not absolutely certain. But I think I may have found the problem. This is with Grav, and the plugin author uses it on his own site. On my site, the page `/mentions` gives a 404. On his site the page `https://www.perlkonig.com/mentions` exists, and contains a brief message.
#[jeremycherfas]I will try to create that page now on my own site.

#Zegnat[jeremycherfas], if you want a second pair of eyes, I am happy to try and send you a mention
#[jeremycherfas]My main problem here is that I am trying to get this working on a local development site, rather than on the live site (because I am worried about breaking the live site). That is giving me the most trouble. I think I should just take the risk of working on the live site.
#ZegnatThere isn’t a whole lot of risk when you are just adding the few webmention discovery tags, but I get where you comming from
#[colinwalker]@petermolnar I don't do much writing on my laptop but downloaded Typora a while back. It's pretty nice.
#petermolnarit's a thing that seems to be capable of handling markdown/plain text tables + footnotes, which are both rare
#ZegnatThat does look good! I mostly just write markdown in whatever editor I have handy, and read it through http://marked2app.com/ (with a custom Tufte CSS style).
#[colinwalker]@j4y_funabashi that's right - it sounds like an interesting prospect. I'm wondering about the possibility of something like a webmentions based directory of sorts to enhance organic discovery between blogs ?
#sknebelsort of like a blogroll is a list of people you follow, a list of people you've been talking to?
#aaronpklike a mentions page, but just listing individual people rather than the list of posts
#[colinwalker]Not just that but a way of letting visitors discover other bloggers that may publish about similar content - discovery is a bitch
#[colinwalker]Probably have to get the details (author url maybe) and write it to the database or a custom post type (I'm obviously thinking WordPress as that's what I use) then list these on a page and check existing values before creating a new entry.
#[colinwalker]And what if this could be centralised to a degree?

#miklb[colinwalker] if you are using semantic linkbacks, all of that should already be comments/commentsmeta tables
#[colinwalker]miklb cool :) yeah, was probably thinking of using that as a base. Gonna be busy over the weekend so probably won't have time to start looking for a bit.

#miklb[colinwalker] only issue I can think of is that actual replies aren't stored as a webmention type so filtering a native comment vs a webmention reply could be tricky
#[colinwalker]miklb I do t have native comments (luckily) but I know what you mean - will have to have a play and see what can be done.
#sknebelif it's really only the "NSA-vulnerability", it's sad to see so many orgs behind on patches (well, NHS apparently still is running XP, without a support contract with MS)

#LoqiJust generated this week's newsletter! You still have a few minutes to make changes, and I'll re-generate it 10 minutes before it gets sent out at 3pm Pacific time. https://indieweb.org/this-week/2017-05-12.html

#aaronpkgRegorLove: sadly did not. It couldn't find the flight info from the number I entered!

#gRegorLoveaaronpk: btw, noticed in Chrome on iPad your checkins look a bit off. The "at [place]" text" is too far left, overlays your photo.
#gRegorLoveCan't seem to duplicate on desktop Chrome though
#aaronpkThat's odd. They look fine on an iPhone too
