Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next

When it comes to indie-crawlers it shows the complexity of indexing JS. The answer should still be to always be https://indieweb.org/curlable

tantek: cweiske left you a message 3 hours, 42 minutes ago: petermolnar - I've finally blogged about my backup strategy: http://cweiske.de/tagebuch/backup.htm
#
tantek
!tell petermolnar I think that is the key - starting with minimal plain HTML (maybe even similar / same subset as AMP) and figuring out how to do open versions of all the <amp****> stuff that's based on existing webstandards instead of googleJS
#
Loqi
Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next

#
tantek
what is backup
#
Loqi
A backup of an indieweb site should have everything necessary to redeploy it on a new webhost https://indieweb.org/backup
#
schmarty
good morning, indieweb
#
tantek
backup << {{cweiske}}: [http://cweiske.de/tagebuch/backup.htm My backup strategy]
#
Loqi
ok, I added "{{cweiske}}: [http://cweiske.de/tagebuch/backup.htm My backup strategy]" to the "See Also" section of /backup

#
Loqi
agreed.
#
tantek
I especially like how cweiske deliberately identifies the key information on each device that he cares about, and then how each of them is backed up / synced (sometimes differently)
#
tantek
(instead of just saying "back up the whole device")
#
Karish[m]
pls guide me on how one signs out here.
#
schmarty
Karish: how are you connected to the chat? via the chat.indieweb.org web interface? IRC? matrix?
#
schmarty
looks like matrix. if you're using riot.im, there is a little gear icon in the upper-right corner of the chat window. when you click it, some options will appear, including a "Leave Room" button.
#
schmarty
you can also type out "/part" on a line by itself, without the quotes. that is the command to leave the channel.

Is ActivityStreams conceptually similar to RSS?

#
aaronpk
[keithjgrant]: not really. RSS is just describing content, but ActivityStreams wraps everything in the idea of "activities" that wrap the content. but this is probably more -> #indieweb-dev

Hi - a friend told me that Indieweb has an interesting bot that provides answers to queries. Is it in irc, or Slack, or Matrix?

i've done some updating of the nanopub wiki page - is that expanded information sufficient?
#
dgold
I'm afraid i'm still not very au fait with wikifying myseld
#
sknebel
dgold: I would explicitly mention on the nanopub page it works with hugo - while I think static site gen frontmatter is relatively standardized, people tend to go looking for explicitly the projects they use
#
dgold
oh, I hadn't thought of that, thanks sknebel
#
sknebel
and maybe link it from the hugo and the static site generator page
#
dgold
:) was just opening those
#
sknebel
since this comes up quite often and I often had trouble finding projects I remembered hearing about, I'd say too many references are better than to few in this case
