Gargron i have a problem i don't know how to debug. mastodon profile pages returned in google results always display the latest status as description, instead of bio text (which is both meta description and og:description and afaik microformatted as well)

@JmacDotOrg After observing it for weeks, I’m impressed enough with IndieWeb to make two-way Webmention support my next Plerd priority. chrisaldrich garon, iirc it was kevinmarks in the UK who had submitted the microformats patch to mastodon. I suspect he'll know the answer to your Google question as well.

jmac I don't get from reading the docs how IW-style comments work in the real world. Let's say I want to comment "Great idea!" on your post. So I'd publish that comment on my own domain, all marked up with the right reply-to microformats, and then send you a webmention, right? But in the meantime... my blog & RSS feed end up with an article that just says "Great idea!" with no other context? Surely not?

jeremycherfas When I read that into a variable (in Applescript, i know, don't judge, I'm taking baby steps here) it renders as `I’ve learned`

jeremycherfas I cannot for the life of me see how to read the file and maintain the formatting. Read as Unicode turns it into complete rubbish.
