jgmac1106 My thinking is to go after absolute priority 1 (redoing our program to make it residency based and following student teachers into NHPS after a residency based program..if they are hired) for the first two year while embedded by focusing on competitive priority one (computer science) where the students take some CS classes and document their entire journey using a domain of their own.

jgmac1106 I am piggybacking off one the first priority goal into CS, arguing that we need to rethink CS as literacy in the elementary level and prepare teachers to read and write on the web if we want students able to start taking specialized CS classes in Middle School.

jgmac1106 To accomplish this the teachers will begin by building up their online identities, reflecting as educators, evaluating how tech gets used in literacy and math instruction, create a ton of digital media using the full suite of tools with specific literacy and mathematics goals, and then work in teams to code and build an edtech app.
