↩️ The #indieweb movement (which I love and support) gets marginalized by this 'only makes sense if it's a viable company' metric. Early internet was crazy, I get it (Aristotle/Gopher/Web/etc) these things are never easy. Just surprised so few WANT something more open

↩️ Yeah. And I miss those days, when we were forging new ground and making a web for everyone. Building the web has matured, and that's because it's a critical piece and not a techie playground. But it's less fun. Indieweb is fun, but 3% fun and 97% working out how to get adoption

At work we build member directories pretty regularly, so that infrastructure is mostly there, just need the link back from the member's site.

jgmac1106_, what's the credible web community group you're referring to?
#

https://www.w3.org/community/credibility/ or what if an ultra-right wing group wanted a web ring of just their ten most “credible” sites, someone else BS somebody else truth, credibility defined by community not vocabulary
#
jgmac1106_
I did like the FB idea if hey this article got flagged by ten other people let’s send out a questionaire or recruit contributors like Google Maps, I could see that as workable, its basically what we did when we built a fake facebook to assess how students evaluated author credibility a chat bot

[jgmac1106] For badges, you could also do something along the lines of what kevinmarks did with distributed verification. If the person's site links to the certifier and the certifier links back to the the person's site, then they could use some code to add a checkmark or even the image of the badge itself as verification. See http://www.kevinmarks.com/distributed-verify.html
