@xorWe know little about that ancient culture, and even less about the "web" they used to communicate, but we believe the incantation "utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook" was very significant to them (twitter.com/_/status/1026164197485424640)
jmacLike, shouldn't the guy on the right be catching the ball for later verification and subsequent representation on his personal domain, instead of smashing it back to the guy on the left? Or maybe this is meant to illustrate proper error handling of invalid mentions. idk.
ephemer0l_19This blog is essentially an ad for the Handshake ICO scam with a one-line "denial" of involvement mixed in there. It's obviously very unethical of Christel to not mention her own involvement in the scam which the blog post promotes.
ephemer0l_19Consider Andrew Lee's involvement, Andrew Lee is Christel's boss at London Trust Media and he also controls the majority of freenode voting rights. Andrew Lee also heads the handshake ICO scam. Coincidence?
@ISCdotORGWe have not received any money from @hns. We have asked them to take us off their web site, we didn't give them permission to list ISC on their web site and we do not endorse their initiative. (twitter.com/_/status/1025461692132519936)

petermolnardo we have examples of "follow" pages which offers solutions for non-indieweb, generic public, to subscribe to a website? It's getting tricky, now that Firefox is planning to remove RSS from it's codebase.
[jgmac1106]I woke up to working microsub today speaking of feeds. Was supposed to spend my indieweb time today fixing rss feeds in WP but I slept through first hour may skip a day of #morninghack
petermolnarI was wondering about that, and I reached the conclusion that instead of a newsletter, I'll set up a google groups for my updates, which is owner-post-only - eg. rss via mail. Reasons: google group, because dealing with DKIM and mailing lists is painful, google because it (hopefully) makes things not to go to spam with gmail. I've tried blogtrottr back a long while ago, but that ended up in spam for nearly everyone.
ZegnatTwitter still seems very popular as a venue for notifications as well. Set up a separate Twitter account for your site and have links to posts automatically go in there
ZegnatI have subscribed to, and unsubscribed to, a lot of newsletters. I find them to be very mixed. And the plaintext email versions are often terrible
[jgmac1106]Just feel I put all this effort into writing on the web for others to find...if the audience too lazy to find my work on their own they can go elsewhere
[jgmac1106]Now that aperture is working I need to finally groom my RSS feeds, finally just deleted them all after 15 years or so... Had to use hatchet after neglecting scapel for too long
LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "fresh rss" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "fresh rss is ____", a sentence describing the term)
GWGZegnat: I never use the web interface. I use it to connect to an Android app. But, the only major difference is that TT-RSS has some plugins to extract full article text for feeds that don't have it
ZegnatThat seemed to have definitely been part of the conversation, but no. I think we got to some specific system of organisation. That may or may not have had a software equivalent. (sebsel pointed me at pile of index cards, but that didn’t seem to be it either.)
ZegnatI was getting to the point where miniflux looked like an option, and then they spun that off to a completely different language and infrastructure...
Loqi[sknebel] First PR: #123
I'd be interested in a somewhat representative sample set for pages to parse: e.g. right now I'd like to know in what ratio encountered urls are relative vs absolute. I maybe could grab 100-1000 random entries from indiemap or brid...
[dgold]GWG: re fullfeed items, I found it as easy to spin up a free heroku instance of huginn to create a full content feed of the two sites I was interested in. Does the job.
GWGI am happy to move till I can host a Microsub option
