@tantel it is not a false report. They have tweaked the engines to flag ANY @ mentions from third party clients (all micropub) under "harassment control efforts"
#
[jgmac1106]
Oopks [tantek], sorry hands tired
#
tantek__
[jgmac1106]: well I'm not using Micropub
#
[jgmac1106]
My app was suspended live tweeting the home run derby from the actual stadium using a hashtag the Major League Baseball paid a ton of money to have an emoji next to.
#
tantek__
and I'm typically only @-mentioning folks that are already following me
#
[jgmac1106]
any @ mention from not the direct client is considered bad
#
tantek__
I'm suspecting that's more @-mentions of celebs that aren't following you, especially repeatedly
#
[jgmac1106]
In my email I was told I @ mentioned too many peopl in a row who are not following me
#
aaronpk
hm yeah that doesn't map to my experience
#
aaronpk
oh yeah not following you?
#
tantek__
right, if you repeatedly @-mention someone who is not following you, I think you get flagged
#
[jgmac1106]
exactly what you said, in my reply email I said, but I am using Twitter exactly how I should @ mentioning people during live sporting event clearly being paid for in some kind of deal
#
tantek__
I don't think they paid to get @-mentioned
#
[jgmac1106]
I have to search my blog. I posted their email to me and my response
#
tantek__
the hashtag maybe. but not @-mentions
#
tantek__
so that's two separate things, better to not conflate them
#
tantek__
also @-mentions of people following you are *very* different (expected) than people not following you (unexpected / rare), so if you do the latter *a lot* it looks like you are a harassing them
#
aaronpk
I haven't had any trouble replying to tweetns from the API but I don't add new @-mentions in that
#
[jgmac1106]
yeah I was never really twitter big so I don't know what @ mention stroms feel like
#
[jgmac1106]
I misunderstood...me... goes back to read logs. I thought you were saying @ mentions got you flagged
#
tantek__
no I never said that
#
[jgmac1106]
yes my mistake, reading indieweb channel now

I’ve been recently thinking around the new iOS shortcuts and indieweb stuff…thinking how I can automate things. Has anyone already been thinking about this?
#
Zegnat
Hmm. For some reason I think sebsel may have been playing with that
#
Zegnat
What is shortcuts?
#
Loqi
Shortcuts is an iOS app formerly known as Workflow used to automate various actions https://indieweb.org/Shortcuts
#
Zegnat
Not sure what changed on the Workflow to Shortcuts renaming process. That page may require some touch ups.
#
[Vincent]
I
#
[Vincent]
I’ve been thinking about things like geo-fencing an event and as you enter, sending a webmention to attendees to let them know you arrived
#
[Vincent]
Apple bought Workflow, renamed it shortcuts then also added some deeper integration for Apple apps. Otherwise, it’s largely the same I believe.
#
Zegnat
Then that page on the wiki should explain how some of the posting could be setup :-)
#
[Vincent]
Just looking at it now, thanks 🙂

Hey aaronpk, I see you interconnected your website posts with the fediverse. Did you documented somewhere how did you achieve this? (THIS IS COOL!)
#
cweiske
maybe aaron has his own implementation
#
NinjaTrappeur
I think this is something else. Ostatus is kind of the "ancestor" of activity pub, kind on the decline. According to my AP's server logs, Arron seems to have an AP inbox ( https://aaronparecki.com/activitypub/inbox ).

petermolnar, why do you share photo metadata on your photo posts?
#
NinjaTrappeur
aaronpk, nice!
#
petermolnar
GWG you mean the exif? the short reason is that if a fellow photographer shows up, they can know the conditions I made it with.
#
GWG
Okay
#
GWG
That makes sense.
#
jeremycherfas
petermolnar Do you share exif separately, or just extract it from the image to display?
#
petermolnar
I extract it into a temporary .json file on file modification, then the .json is used on build; it's done via exiftool

TimApple: since ActivityPub was finalized and popularized by Mastodon, some folks are making their sites work with it, but it's got some challenges.

what is Bridgy Fed?
#
Loqi
Bridgy Fed connects IndieWeb sites with federated social networks like Mastodon and Hubzilla https://indieweb.org/Bridgy_Fed
#
[jgmac1106]
haven't set up Bridgy Fed yet, and webmentions are explicitly not added around privacy concerns

#
[daniel]
@jmac [tantek] thanks 🙂
#
[daniel]
@petermolnar MarsEdit used to support a rudimentary (Blosxom-based) static publishing mode, but I took it out in MarsEdit 4 because I was so dissatisfied with it. I do plan to revisit static publishing again at some point, with an eye towards making it extremely modular, probably script based. Hopefully it would then be adaptable to most if not all static systems.
