# [jgmac1106] @tantel it is not a false report. They have tweaked the engines to flag ANY @ mentions from third party clients (all micropub) under "harassment control efforts"
# [jgmac1106] Oopks [tantek], sorry hands tired
# [jgmac1106] My app was suspended live tweeting the home run derby from the actual stadium using a hashtag the Major League Baseball paid a ton of money to have an emoji next to.
# [jgmac1106] any @ mention from not the direct client is considered bad
# [jgmac1106] In my email I was told I @ mentioned too many peopl in a row who are not following me
# [jgmac1106] exactly what you said, in my reply email I said, but I am using Twitter exactly how I should @ mentioning people during live sporting event clearly being paid for in some kind of deal
# [jgmac1106] I have to search my blog. I posted their email to me and my response
# [jgmac1106] yeah I was never really twitter big so I don't know what @ mention stroms feel like
# [jgmac1106] I misunderstood...me... goes back to read logs. I thought you were saying @ mentions got you flagged
# [jgmac1106] yes my mistake, reading indieweb channel now
# [jgmac1106] I mean, chat, just lost the thread, apologies, but more importantly that stinks,

# [Vincent] Good Morning IndieWeb
# [Vincent] morning @Zegnat
# [Vincent] I’ve been recently thinking around the new iOS shortcuts and indieweb stuff…thinking how I can automate things. Has anyone already been thinking about this?
# Loqi Shortcuts is an iOS app formerly known as Workflow used to automate various actions https://indieweb.org/Shortcuts
# [Vincent] I
# [Vincent] I’ve been thinking about things like geo-fencing an event and as you enter, sending a webmention to attendees to let them know you arrived
# [Vincent] Apple bought Workflow, renamed it shortcuts then also added some deeper integration for Apple apps. Otherwise, it’s largely the same I believe.
# [Vincent] Just looking at it now, thanks 🙂

# NinjaTrappeur Hey aaronpk, I see you interconnected your website posts with the fediverse. Did you documented somewhere how did you achieve this? (THIS IS COOL!)
# cweiske this might be https://snarfed.org/indieweb-ostatus-bridge, but I am not sure
# NinjaTrappeur I think this is something else. Ostatus is kind of the "ancestor" of activity pub, kind on the decline. According to my AP's server logs, Arron seems to have an AP inbox ( https://aaronparecki.com/activitypub/inbox ).
# NinjaTrappeur Thanks for the link btw!

# [jgmac1106] good morning
# petermolnar feature request: Loqi randomly uses disturbing, dystopian-sounding greetings, such as "rise and shine, citizen!"
# NinjaTrappeur aaronpk, nice!
# petermolnar GWG you mean the exif? the short reason is that if a fellow photographer shows up, they can know the conditions I made it with.
# jeremycherfas petermolnar Do you share exif separately, or just extract it from the image to display?
# petermolnar I extract it into a temporary .json file on file modification, then the .json is used on build; it's done via exiftool

# [TimApple] Question: So I see lots of indieweb stuff focused on twitter, fb, etc... where does the fediverse come into it, if at all. I'm not on any of the traditional social media platforms myself.

# [schmarty] TimApple: since ActivityPub was finalized and popularized by Mastodon, some folks are making their sites work with it, but it's got some challenges.
# [schmarty] what is Bridgy Fed?
# Loqi Bridgy Fed connects IndieWeb sites with federated social networks like Mastodon and Hubzilla https://indieweb.org/Bridgy_Fed
# [jgmac1106] haven't set up Bridgy Fed yet, and webmentions are explicitly not added around privacy concerns
# [schmarty] what is ActivityPub?
# Loqi ActivityPub is a decentralized social networking protocol (W3C Recommendation) briefly known as ActivityPump, based on pump.io and ActivityStreams https://indieweb.org/ActivityPub
# [jgmac1106] I hope for the day when I don't need it and my social reader simply acts like my tweetdeck, mastodon space, we can dream
# [schmarty] [TimApple] ^^ examples of folks syndicating from their own sites to "fediverse" sites
# [jgmac1106] https://github.com/danito/KnownMastodon if you go with Known
# [schmarty] anyway, this is starting to sound -dev

# [daniel] Thanks all. Micropub support is definitely on the list. The enhancements [manton] and [aaronpk] (and others?) have discussed to make it more suitable to a general purpose app like MarsEdit should go a long way.
# [jgmac1106] What is MarsEdit?
# Loqi MarsEdit is a Mac desktop app for blogging, supporting posting to several blog platforms including WordPress, Tumblr, and Micro.blog https://indieweb.org/MarsEdit

# petermolnar [daniel]: MarsEdit could also be a GUI for static genetators (eg. trigger build, sync remote location), like Jekyll or Hugo. That could make some static generators actually user friendly.

# [daniel] [AkyRhO] I don't anticipate that I will ever port MarsEdit to Linux because I am a Mac user and highly invested in that platform. If the Mac disappeared, maybe I'd switch to Linux, though!
# [daniel] @jmac [tantek] thanks 🙂
# [daniel] @petermolnar MarsEdit used to support a rudimentary (Blosxom-based) static publishing mode, but I took it out in MarsEdit 4 because I was so dissatisfied with it. I do plan to revisit static publishing again at some point, with an eye towards making it extremely modular, probably script based. Hopefully it would then be adaptable to most if not all static systems.
