mlncnyoshi5551: Pretty sure a permanent redirect is how to do it, but i can't find that documented and dealing with a change of domain seems definitely worth defining
petermolnarthis is returning to oldschool GUI programming btw, but now on the web, and it's certainly simpler for a coder, but that doesn't make it the correct way
petermolnargiven we've revived webrings... should we also exchange banners?
jolvera, todrobbins, circ-user-zt896, wolftune, swentel, blassin, mickael, nitot, [davidmead], [eddie], tantek, eli_oat1, snarfed, [grantcodes], [schmarty], [jgmac1106] and [cleverdevil] joined the channel; circ-user-zt896 left the channel
jackyVue saved a team I led at my last job weeks of time (we measured it in the ramp up time of the junior devs, how much more we needed (inhouse + outhouse work), and a few other biz factors)
[jgmac1106]Interesting Automattic added a timeline feed to their social reader, interestingly Eddie who I never followed showed up in my feed, seems to be only titeless notes in my feed
[eddie]Have you follow [chrisaldrich]? I wonder if he did something with one of my posts? Because I would be surprised if one of my posts appears in the Wordpress ecosystem without someone on Wordpress doing something
[jgmac1106]They now break the reader into Articles from people I follow, status/notes from people I follow, and recommended reads across the entire network
chrisaldrichI'm looking at a few sample feeds and WP.com's reader is actually quite nice. Sadly their UI for sorting, managing, and maintaining feeds is lacking in comparison with inoreader, feedly, etc.
chrisaldrichA few things have recently inspired me to think about to do lists, bullet journals, etc. and potentially building those into my own website by extending my list of "itches" https://boffosocko.com/kind/itch/. The key is likely having some useful archive views like monthly recaps...
mcverryj1but it isn’t that bad to do manually, I took last two weeks office because I am disorganized and forget but wow does productivity suffer when the clock aint in my browser
mcverryj1decided instead of providing an h-feed of updates for my students to follow I will embed an rss feed of posts since noone uses a social reader
mcverryj1oops forgot my h-card picture gone university “launched a new webiste” but it really doesn’t work it is just a wrapper to point to the old site now at www2…..because everyone knows that…ohh yeah they renamed our wireless network SSL
chrisaldricheddie: here's an outline. I'll try to move chunks to the wiki shortly. Perhaps under "to do list" or something similar. There's already and indieweb to do hiding there....
[eddie][chrisaldrich] I do like how your itches are individual posts on your site. I have an IndieWeb page on my site that is essentially the same as my User profile on indieweb.org, but you can add more detail to itches when they are a full post.
chrisaldrichGitHub issue queues are much the same way... it's nice to have a mini-history of multiple thoughts and explorations in one place on the way to a particular destination.
