#[tantek]login wall is a UI [[antipattern]] used by some silos like [[Medium]] to prompt returning users with a login UI, sometimes after some number of viewed pages, that blocks viewing or using the site until the user has logged in. When presented immediately (upon first visit), this is a [[registration wall]].

#[jgmac1106]!tell jacky I am watching my friend start to interact in the Mastodon instance you recommended maybe you should add a store interface to share with the creative crowd in Koype

#snarfedit's possible that it Just Works anyway, but unlikely
#gRegorLoveThat's similar to what I'm doing. I sometimes link to similar posts with "previously" at the bottom. The webmention shows up on those previous posts as generic mentions currently
#gRegorLovebut it would be cool if it could automatically show up in a related reading section instead.
#KartikPrabhugRegorLove: you could update the webmention processing to have your own articles show up as "related posts" instead of mentions

#snarfeda number of wordpress plugins generate related reading links like that automatically, based on content. some are really good.

#[eddie]Ohhh that's an interesting idea KartikPrabhu, using self-detection of webmentions to group is as related posts
#[eddie]I've never liked how my own posts show up as mentions, I think I might have to implement that!
#KartikPrabhuright. you could also use tags/categories
#KartikPrabhu[eddie]: yes, how you display webmentions is totally up to you so that is within the rules ;)
#[eddie]Yeah, I don't know why that never occurred to me!

#gRegorLoveYeah, I might do something with tags bc I would like a bit of granular control over it.
#gRegorLoveMaybe `u-category h-entry` similar to person tag
#[tantek]snarfed, do you yourself use any of the wordpress plugins that generate related reading links?
#[chrisaldrich]Jetpack does the related posts for word press
#[chrisaldrich]I know I've seen others, but Jetpack is the most common.
#KartikPrabhugRegorLove: maybe use both: if a self-webmention is from your own site and has "similar" u-categories then it is a "related post"
#KartikPrabhuthat way you can also extend it to other "trusted" sites

#[eddie]Another interesting aspect could be considering any links you make inside of your post. If they have a similar category you could also mark that as a related post
#[eddie]So then you can use posts that mention the current page, plus posts the current page mentions. Any of that collection that is considered a trusted site and has a similar category would be considered related and listed below/beside the main content
#jacky[jgmac1106]: I didn't recommend a Mastodon instance in particular (not to my knowledge).

#jackyI actually try not to - I don't know what people want/need nor do I have insight into how moderation works on a particular server
