chrisaldrichAs I'm thinking about /Facebook_Fan_Subscriptions, I could have sworn that at a camp a year or so ago as Patreon was making changes some of us documented "supporting pages" to show the other half of the /payment process the way Patreon shows their support pages.
LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "supporting" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "supporting is ____", a sentence describing the term)
chrisaldrichI should expand mine to include paid subscriptions to newspapers/magazines many of which I view paid subscriptions for to be essentially donations
[tantek]I also created a minimal /request page on my site for the opposite, use-case when someone else pays for a group dinner and asks folks to venmo them

@EricaJoyin talking about this w/ @cap, i realized what i’m looking for. i want the iphone of self hosted blogging software: simple, intuitive, beautiful, & just works. i do not want the android of blogging software: can be great if you fiddle the right bits & find the right theme, etc. (twitter.com/_/status/1101361880180830208)
@EricaJoydo i have to put my writing back on my website now? is there a self hosted alternative to wordpress that's pretty (well designed), feature rich, and easy to use? (twitter.com/_/status/1101204810290745345)
aaronpkI want both. For my main site I want the ridiculously feature rich CMS with all the knobs so I can do things like customize my avatar per post, but then for my cat's website and project websites I want the really simple and straightforward system
[jgmac1106]which is kinda why I went A for my more static pages at https://jgregorymcverry.com and B for the social stream using Known (and bc I don't know how to add all the knobs to A)...but its a system I believe would work for most
[jgmac1106]The UI needs love, but the role of Known having A out of the box with all IndieWeb building blocks on by default...but B being a bunch of one click plugins you could add (without going to GitHub) is intriguing design to me (not for Known but for CMS in general)

GWGThere's no other way right now. If you supported ending post-status to the server, I could transfer the post to my editor and edit it there, I suppose
[grantcodes]Another suggestion for drafts, if you can query a micropub endpoint to see if it supports: 1. draft post-status 2. updates 3. micropub queries. If all that is supported a client can store and manage drafts on the server, and if not fall back to local drafts
chrisaldrichHoly webmentions batman! It looks like I've gotten some comments coming back to my WordPress website from Mastodon by comment_agent http.rb/3.3.0 (Mastodon/2.7.1; +https://mastodon.social/)
chrisaldrichIn looking, it appears that I've gotten 5 of them. And they all seem associated with my mastodon.social account instead of my mastodon instance courtesy of Pfefferle
Loqi[Chris Aldrich] Have I mentioned that I can also be followed via Mastodon directly through my personal website @chrisaldrich that acts roughly like a freestanding instance? I'm still working out some bugs, but it's not as horrible as I would have thought.
