#LoqiInternet Relay Chat (abbreviated IRC), in particular the #indieweb channel on the irc.freenode.net server, is the primary community discussion forum for IndieWebCamp and anything about the IndieWeb https://indieweb.org/IRC
#jackyhmm was looking for a way to markup my IRC nicknames on my site
#jackycould just make a u-url of my hcard with the scheme to `irc`
[eddie] joined the channel
#[eddie]jacky, you want to link to YOUR irc nickname from your homepage? Is that the goal?
#Loqicommunication in the context of the indieweb refers to using your personal website as a starting point and potentially way for people to contact you https://indieweb.org/contact

#[tantek]IRC kinda sucks as a standard / specification. Like no test suites etc
#[tantek]So “obscure” features like IRC URLs to open a query (private message) to someone don’t actually work in any clients I know of, so it’s useless as a publishing feature
#[tantek]I wonder how that new IRC spec effort is going. Imma gonna guess they’re lost in arguments over new features (when they should just do a WHATWG and spec only what’s actually interoperable implemented as a baseline, with a test suite)
