Loqilicense is terms under which you are allowed to (re)use a piece of work; in the context of the IndieWeb, for source code such as in open source projects, or content, like the IndieWeb wiki itself which has a specific Copyright https://indieweb.org/license
[tonz][Michael_Beckwith] [aaronpk] I use a cc by sa license on my blog, as I want to allow professional peer network learning (so no nc) , but don't want others to lock such learning up (so sa). My photos are all by nc sa, to allow any reuse if shared alike but no commercial reuse before obtaining my permission. (full disclosure, I am a board member of the Dutch creative commons chapter Open Nederland)
jgmac1106I think Charlie had a great thing on her blog in her footer something like “Insert copyright bullshit that has no legal standing” or something similar…need to go look
jgmac1106I don’t have rel=“license” on everything me thinks, need to go back and do..I also use a TON of CC stuff on my website, maybe will go back and fork cogdog’s img and do it..I did once before but stuck u-photo on everything..before I knew any better
jgmac1106I mean not content harrassement, being told “you don’t belong” versus rape threats, and I had the thought that all the harrassment was coming from facebook shares
[kimberlyhirsh]Yeah, I did an introduction & conclusion skim. The argument of personal blog as a digital text that can be considered data equal to autoethnography is powerful.
jgmac1106at what point is the exposure worth the hate or shoudl someone not have to be driven from platform becuase of hate, and no way any alogrithim good enough to catch that sexism and racism
jgmac1106well when you have a President telling people “You Don’t Belong” the problem is much bigger than facebook and blogging just glad we have brave folks like @TressieMcPhD so many of my students get inspired by the way she works openly
jgmac1106and in many ways its nopt about my content, like I said nobody wants it, moreso its about defending the Commons as a whole, I want tto model the practice of helping others get credit for their creations while also contributing to a global shared and open knowledge base
jamietanna[m]Just weighing into the licencing convo - I'm CC BY-SA NC because there's some stuff I post about that likely could be used. Although code snippets on my site are licenced more liberally so it can be used for commercial usage, the content takes more time so I'd prefer that not being ripped off
[snarfed][kevinmarks] threadgoblin, rosegarden, twig, etc there are fictional, right? just checking my understanding. ie this is amusing: https://platforms.fyi/titania/
