jacky, it would be great to see your screenshots of what you see as "perfect" in Tumblr's dashboard
#
[tantek]
we're kinda lacking in screenshots for that part of their UI in /Tumblr
#
aaronpk
Especially because it's probably about to change a lot
#
[tantek]
oh goodness very good point
#
[tantek]
well according to Matt's podcast, still got a couple of months, but still
#
aaronpk
That qualifies as "about to" in my book
#
aaronpk
Given the time scales that my projects tend to move in 😂

Hopefully my website backup will finish downloading while I’m here - I want to do some #indieweb-dev work on the plane if I can 😄
#
[Rose]
Anyone have indieweb plans for the weekend?

Yes. I want to make a place to log my gin tasting. As it looks like I’ll be attending another workshop next month
#
[Rose]
Nice!

Will these be using the "drink" post kind?

A gin workshop zegnat?

I may have a day clear tomorrow to try and advance my Grav theme.

[Rose]: it may just be a review, as I would not be posting at the time of the event

I have travel thoughts. Possibly inspired by the fact that I'm on a plane.

I was thinking of posting on my website when I take off and when I land. Automated based on data pulled from TripIt and then checking the flight status.

I've just posted a green computing page on indieweb.org, could I get some ideas on how to flesh-out this page more

[jgmac1106]
maybe you should add one section for indieweb examples, where community people share their strategies and tools for greening websites, then add an other examples for folks not in community

Hi everyone !Has anyone already seen an online foss reservation module that can be used for sport classes. My wife is a yoga teacher, I developed her website and she'd like her students to book their classes online. I do only see very expensive modules and not even sure it respects privacy for everyoneWith a loyalty card system allowing to book 10 or 20 classes for a reduced price

I don’t see a mention of it on the wiki, but have we ever discussed a voting webmention type? Maybe something like vote-for or vote-against?
#
[aarongustafson]
For context, we’re looking at adding voting similar to UserVoice to the WebWeWant site (webwewant.fyi) and I’d like to avoid having to build some sort of sign in system. I’d rather folks be able to vote up their favorites via webmentions from their own sites of via social media accounts.

[jgarber]
[aarongustafson] This is way outdated, I think, but: http://microformats.org/wiki/vote-links
#
[jgarber]
Not directly webmention, obviously, but maybe falls into the “prior art” category.
#
[jgarber]
There’s also the “like” post type (https://indieweb.org/like) but I’m not sure there’s the inverse (“dislike”).
#
[aarongustafson]
I thought I remembered something like that at one point.
#
[jgarber]
I suspect some of that is from a desire to be positive and affirmative in action.
#
[aarongustafson]
Like may be enough. I’ll bring it up with the group.
#
[aarongustafson]
Yeah, I’m less interested in vote against in this context
#
[jgarber]
Then it may be an easy semantic argument that “like” == “endorse” == “vote for.”

#
[jgarber]
Ah, yeah, reading this now. This is an excellent use case for a post on Site A which is a “like” of a page on webwewant.fyi.
#
[jgarber]
Y’all could then choose how to display “likes” in whatever UI you want (e.g. thumbs up, plus sign, etc.).
#
[tantek]
aarongustafson, what's the use-case you're trying to solve?
#
[aarongustafson]
I mentioned it in the thread rather than adding a new post (sorry). We are looking to add voting to webwewant.fyi
#
[aarongustafson]
Trying to bring a UserVoice like voting system (sans the limits) to a site without requiring accounts, etc.

If we remapped the rel based vote links to a webmention model, how should we do it?
#
KartikPrabhu
I think the first question is "why should we do it"?
#
[KevinMarks]
Hm. It could enable polls to be distributed.
#
KartikPrabhu
if someone is publishing polls then sure

and consuming
#

what is poll

It looks like we don't have a page for "poll" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "poll is ____", a sentence describing the term)
