jbove It was pretty easy to set up a server on my Raspberry Pi 3 thanks to the PyGopherd project. Really digging that I can simply push text files to publish content.

petermolnar jbove: when I set up pygopherd I though it'll be a lot of work. Turned out to be like the very early days of a webserver, and it reminded me how many terribly complicated things we have.

Bitweasil Strava users are a weird case.

Bitweasil I've seem them get really upset about electric bike riders who /don't use Strava at all/, claiming they're somehow cheating. While going back and forth to work.

[tantek] This is not specific to Strava. Applicable to any system that stores user physical location information, especially if that system has any mechanism (even opt-in) to share that information with other users, especially if any of that sharing is implicit or even in aggregate views.
