i would find it interesting if the IW plugins integrated into the official Site Health data, which I know is filterable

GWG++ great post. What’s the rationale for integration of Webmention and syndication links?

Hi IndieWeb, I have a question about the rel=“me” links used for indieauth. Do anybody have experience with Write.as / WriteFreely? That’s the platform I use to host my blog site at the moment.
#
[Kasper_Nymand]
I’ve added Mastodon, Twitter, and Email with rel=“me”.
#
[Kasper_Nymand]
Is this just not possible, or, am I doing something wrong? (I’m not really familiar with code yet)
#
[Kasper_Nymand]
You’re only able to customize your CSS and JavaScript for the site, and add HTML code in individual posts and pages. But, site-wide it’s CSS and JavaScript. So, I’ve added the rel=“me” links in an innerHTML in the Custom JavaScript field in settings. I’m able to find the links with rel=“me” through Inspector in my browser, but indieauth.com does not seem to be able to find them.
#

Can you share the link to your site?

The links are added in the footer.
#
aaronpk
Looks like the links are added by javascript and not actually part of the HTML
#
aaronpk
you need to be able to "view source" of the page and see the HTML links there
#
[Kasper_Nymand]
Hmm, I don’t think the platform allows that at the moment.
#
[Kasper_Nymand]
I guess I just have to wait if I want to stay with Write.as
#
[jgmac1106]
I have tried to help people with write.as
#
[jgmac1106]
we have found you need the paid version to be able to edit the header or footer and even then it isn't as easy as editing HTML should be...I have notes or posts somehwere...one sec
#
aaronpk
[jgmac1106]: is this documented on the wiki page?
#
aaronpk
what is write.as?
#
Loqi
write.as is a minimal UI blogging tool meant for quick posting with good pseudonymity https://indieweb.org/write.as
#
[jgmac1106]
no I should..it was just trying to help a friend.... write.as is not the most search friendly term on my blog...
#

[Greg McVerry] @dogtrax Yes reading forums you have to have a paid account to add HTML to the footer. How do you get your by;line "A place to gather words before they get lost." wonder if you can there? I think it might be a paid feature

[tantek] Your talk at WCUS was great! Great span of tension (Is that how you say it?) and then clearly and distinctly explained simple tools. I have the feeling (or at least the hope) that it opened the eyes of a few attendees.

This isn't a direct answer, but if you want to use pleroma from command line, take a look at toot. https://github.com/ihabunek/toot

I am looking for a graph that shows the crossover point between using a dynamic vs a static website
[frank] joined the channel
#
tomasparks
I know that social media website are dynamic and website that only update by-weekly should be static, I am wondering is there a crossover point
#
KartikPrabhu
my website probably only changes monthly but it is not static
#
aaronpk
I don't think there's a single graph, a lot of it is pesonal opinion
#
[chrisbergr]
You can also use a dynamic solution with caching. But I figured out that this always brings problems with comments and webmentions. If you don't provide interactions, maybe this something for you.
#
tomasparks
I'm looking at from a costing point of view
#
tomasparks
i use a static website
#
tomasparks
thanks :(
#
aaronpk
I don't think static websites are necessarily cheaper either
jbove joined the channel
#
[chrisbergr]
Really? If you use githib, it's only the domain.
#
aaronpk
there are so many factors though
#
aaronpk
don't forget the external cost of whatever tools you need in order to change the content of the static website
#
tomasparks
^ knew that
#
aaronpk
e.g. a laptop
#
aaronpk
then there's also the time cost
#
aaronpk
anyway i'm just saying I think there's a lot of factors at play
#
tomasparks
I knew there were lots of variable at play
#
aaronpk
I don't understand the question then? I don't think there is a single crossover point, even if you were to create a multidimensional graph
#
tomasparks
I was think of post/updated as the main variable with time/cost a the second variable
#
aaronpk
well that's a much more specific question with a smaller surface area :)
#
[jgmac1106]
if time=money SSG not cheaper IMO
#
[jgmac1106]
oops aaronpk already said that
